I absolutely love this nail salon. They have the best Brazilian waxes. The owner takes a lot of care into making sure it looks great. I’ve also never been upset with my gel nails whether it’s just getting them painted or a full set. I trust them with my wax and with my nails anytime. The ladies who work here are amazing!! Got my nails done here for my wedding. I booked the appointment months out for this place based on the positive google reviews. I asked for French tips. The appointment took nearly 2 hours and was disastrous. The technician started with a base acrylic layer then tried to glue the white tips over it. She had a hard time getting them to stick at this point, which made the appointment go even longer. Then, when she got them to stick, added more acrylic over top which made my nails very uneven. I’m all for supporting small businesses but this was a nightmare. I was late for my wedding rehearsal and left with mediocre nails. I don’t live in Charlottesville but I wouldn’t go back here if I did.

I moved to CVille 1 year ago and today was the 1st time I got a mani/pedi locally. I have heard horror story after horror story about other salons around town so I have been avoiding nail salons all together. Finally someone suggested Boom Boom and they got me right in. They have a great location, validate parking and their prices are great. I think it was the most thorough but GENTLE pedicure I’ve ever had. Devy was my tech and she went IN on my ingrown toenails (tmi, lol). The best part was that she DID NOT HURT ME! My mani came out so much nicer than I expected and it didn’t break my bank. I will go back and I will ask for Devy again.

I never feel compelled to write reviews ever, but I just had to after my treatment here. I walked in, and they were moderately crowded and asked if they take appointments because they were busy. The first lady I talked to kindly responded with, yeah, what time are you thinking and I answered, “30 min to an hour.” I got snapped at in front of the whole salon (SO embarrassing and ruined my day) by this other lady (blonde) saying, “No, Well, you should have called earlier. Sorry,” in the rudest tone. I would have been more than happy to wait and give them my business: rude service and a pathetic excuse for customer service and a business model. I took myself and my business up the road to Nail and Art Salon and Spa and had a wonderful experience. I had the same interaction with them there, asking about an appointment, and didn’t get snapped at or made to feel stupid.

Positive: Professionalism, QualityShay (spelling might be incorrect) did a FANTASTIC job on my nails! I had gotten acrylic nails for the first time a couple months ago at a different location, under the naive impression that it was good quality. I went in today for a soak off & regular manicure. Shay was kind and patient as she explained to me that the goopy, sticky substance that came off my nails were, in fact, not good quality. A nail tech’s nightmare. But she pushed through and now my nails are a DREAM! Shay was extremely detail oriented with her work. She listened to what I requested regarding nail shaping which I really appreciated. I ended up getting a gel manicure instead of a regular with their top deluxe option with exfoliation, wax, & massage. I’m really grateful that Boom Boom was able to accommodate the last minute decision to change my plans. I highly recommend Boom Boom!
