As a black woman, I have to be really careful about where I receive laser hair removal, as all of the machines are not equipped to safely treat darker skin. While researching machines that were the most safe skin for brown skin, I learned about the Deka Motus, which is not only safe for darker skin but also (almost entirely*) PAIN FREE. (*At most, there’s mild infrequent discomfort). A follow up search for a local spa that used the motus led me to Bolus Med Spa and Mark and Bianca, who specialize in using that exact machine and on women of color. I no longer dread laser hair removal appointments, one because the treatments don’t hurt and both Mark and Bianca are actually really fun to be around.
