My current stylist was out due to having surgery, so I went online looking for a new salon who did highlights. Then I came across Blue duck salon. I looked at the pricing to get a rough idea of what I would be paying (roughly $122). I knew it would be a little bit more expensive then what I typically pay which was fine. Well the day of my appointment came up and I got there a little bit earlier than my appointment. They took me back right away and I told the stylist what I wanted. Started to do my hair and was making small but the whole time I felt like I was an inconvenience. About less than a quarter of my hair being done, I already wanted to leave. But after she was done putting the foil in my hair she had me sit under a dryer then she took me to the sinks to wash my hair. She used so many different products in my hair. Then we went back to her station and she blew dry my hair. I asked for a small trim for my hair. Instead of doing it while I was sitting she made me stand up and to try my hair. I thought it was a bit odd but I just figured that’s how she did things. Once we are finished I go up to the register it’s came out to $220. I was so confused on where they got that price. At first I liked my hair but the next day after my appointment, I got a closer look while I was doing my hair I realized how the top half of my head was highlighted blonde but the bottom half patchy. I don’t know much about hair but I do no think The stylist put enough bleach on my hair nor left me long enough to process. I definitely do not recommend coming here

Unless you want to pay $250 for highlights, do not go here!!! Starting price is $95, my full highlights totaled $245. I definitely expected to pay more than the starting price as I have long hair, but this is straight up robbery. The service took 4 hours and I didn’t even have her finish blow drying. On top of the pricing, the stylist just graduated from hair school, so it’s not like I was paying for experience. Had I known this, I would have just gone to the school. Please, please, please take your money elsewhere. As the salon mentions in the response below, the $95 highlight fee is only for touch up, which is NOT how the highlight fee is advertised. Again, not being transparent is not good customer service and I highly encourage anyone considering this salon to look elsewhere and do your research prior to booking.

Well, it took 4 hours because my stylist made a mistake with the first round of dying. She got advice from a more experienced coworker and it still did not come out what I asked for, but I was told it would fade as I washed it. I was charged 100 dollars for that. I honestly was not impressed. The decor of the place is really nice and the lady who worked the counter was excellent. The stylist who made the mistake was also very nice and professional. I don’t know if I will be back.

Very happy with my stylist, Tiffany! Got my hair cut on Saturday, but just wasn’t what I expected. I’m also terrible at explaining anything hair related lol, so I rebooked on Tuesday (today) to try again. She’s the only stylist I’ve had that actually listens to what I want, and make an effort to do exactly what I asked for. I will be returning and I definitely recommend this salon. Very modern, great products. Happy I chose this place!

Sydney is an actual miracle worker. I have long, curly, thin hair that I wear down and without product. When it gets to a certain length, a typical amount of upkeep does not cut it, and if I can’t find the time around my 12-14 hour work days 3-5 days per week schedule to take care of it, it locks up in the tightest mats. Imagine having essentially one heavy, ball- shaped dreadlock, that’s what it’s typically like. This has happened 4 times and it has NEVER taken less than 3 hours total time to get me in and out of the salon with two stylists working it. Sydney, by herself, completely obliterated that record and got me in and out with the literal best cut of my entire life in about an hour and 45 minutes, (including the time she spent finishing up before me). Needless to say, I was astonished. Oh and the gal working at the counter very politely offered me a cup of coffee while I waited which I accepted and enjoyed very much and I felt added a lot of value to my experience here. Couldn’t recommend these guys more ❤️❤️❤️

I wish I could could remember the woman’s name, she left my mom sitting alone while she went outside multiple times, never told my mom what she was doing to her hair until my mom asked, it wasn’t even close to what she asked for. Stylist just bleached tf out of my moms hair and put what she claimed to be toner over it.

Lindsay was great! I had a really bad hair color job done twice (once was the original once was the fix at another salon). Lindsay worked her magic and fixed my hair. She had her color specialist help devise a plan and the results were amazing! Hands down I will be back. I am even an hour away and so worth the drive!

If you have or want blonde hair ask for Makayla she helped me get to all over blonde from a old balayage I had that was about 9 months old and I told her what I wanted and she had to do three processes and it wasn’t cheap but you get what you pay for, but wow I was blown away. It’s a beautiful color Worth every penny! I always get compliments. Thanks again will be a loyal customer for as long as I live in Newburgh! Salon offers coffee which I really appreciate for morning appointments haha best wash and dry I’ve had too they use heated towel after washing and let it sit. Amazing. Especially when you get bleached it can cause irritation on the scalp.
