Love this place!! I go all the time and my blowouts are beautiful. Kelsey, Patrice, and Desiree are fabulous. If you need makeup done Desiree is exceptional.The owners are great too. I even go to their other salon Greg & Tony for cut and color. Erin is top notch.

I don’t know if I had a bad stylist or if my stylist was having a bad day but, I’ll tell ya, I did NOT have a good experience here. I showed my stylist how I wanted my long, thick hair styled. The only thing she was able to accomplish which has never been accomplished with my hair before was make it look limp and lifeless. She used one small round brush and a dryer on heat that was so high it was burning my scalp. When she was done, I asked if she was going to use any product (at this point, I was desperately hoping she was far from done). She responded with, “well I can give you some hair spray?” In 10 minutes, I can style my hair infinitely better than what I paid $40 for. The worst part was this was for a Christmas party. I had spent so much money on my outfit and makeup, I wanted a hair do to match. Letting my hair air dry would have been better than the blow dry I got here.

I heard very good reviews about this salon so I decided to get my makeup done there the other week. I went over exactly what I wanted multiple times and at the end I still didn’t achieve that look. After doing my eyeshadow she did my eyeliner which she messed up on and took it all off with a makeup wipe and started over. She did the same on the other eye as well. She then proceeded to do my face makeup and started putting highlighter under my eyes and not in the right spots. Through the process I had to guide her through multiple times what I wanted and kept saying to fix this, put this color here, less wing, it was not what I expected at all!! I can honestly say I’ve never been more disappointed by a service in my life. Her skills were not up to par of the $70 I ended up paying at all and was wiped off as soon as I got home as I just proceeded to do it myself. Not a true makeup artist in my eyes and not even sure if she’s certified to be completely honest.

My blowout was done by Jacqueline, and she had the blowdryer on such a high heat that there was steam coming off of it. I moved my head away from the blowdryer several times because it burned. I am kicking myself now for not just telling her to turn the temp down. I had no idea I would be in so much pain now. My scalp is burned and scabbing, and the lymph nodes on my neck and base of my scalp are swollen and sore because of the scalp infection. The blowout looked good – but it was not worth this pain. My hair better not fall out because of it!! Oh, and they made me wash my hair beforehand and come with wet hair b/c they claimed they only had a 30-minute slot for me – but still charged me full price. I wonder now if she was trying to hurry me along by using the higher temp, or if she always blowdrys like that. Beware. I have had blowouts from others that have been fine and as long as my hair doesn’t fall out I would go back – just not to her.

Blow Dry Southport never disappoints! I have long, thick, curly hair and have so many bad stories of blowouts that I’ve had out of town. Last year, I was nervous trying about trying a new place since I’ve used the same guy (closer to my home) for my blowouts for many years. For convenience reasons, had to find a location closer to work in Fairfield and Blow Dry Southport has nailed it every time. I’ve been in the chair with Desiree and Christiana and both do beautiful work with my thick hair. My mom has used Patrice and was also thrilled!
