I’m not one to typically write reviews, but my experience here was less than ideal. I made an appointment for a quick dry style (just down with curls) and a few clip in extension installations. I got a text the morning of asking if I could come in 30 minutes early because a stylist called in sick, which was no problem! I arrived and ended up waiting about 30 minutes because they were behind. Again, not really a big deal for me, I could see they were doing their best and I wasn’t in a rush so I was fine waiting. When it was my turn it just started off on the wrong foot. I showed her my extensions and she immediately said “I don’t have time to do those it wasn’t on your appointment.” I told her I 100% mentioned my extensions when I booked. Majority of the reason I go to dry bars is so they can put in my extensions because I tend to struggle at home. There are only 7 easy clip in pieces and they add volume for my hair, not length. She reluctantly put one in and after a minute or two said “they’re not curling”. I have never had an issue with my extensions curling, they actually curl better than my natural hair and help my natural hair hold curl. I told her I don’t normally have an issue so I wasn’t sure why she was. She ended up putting 4 of the 7 extensions in and overall just rushed through my hair. Probably took 15 minutes top. She didn’t ask where I part my hair so that was off, she didn’t tease my hair at all so I had to ask her for a little more volume when I was done. In the end I just felt bad taking up more time and accepted it and went home. By the time I got home my extensions had fallen about 3 inches down and my curls were basically gone. Dry bars are supposed to be a relaxing fun experience. I felt more like a burden to them when I was there. I’m a pretty understanding person and had no issues waiting longer or coming in early. I can see it was stressful for them being short handed, but that isn’t my fault and it would have been nice to get the same experience you normally would in a dry bar. Sadly, I don’t think I will go back again.

This place is AMAZING all around!!! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted kindly and felt so welcomed! They excel in everything, especially hair styling, knowledge, and hospitality. Everyone who works there is incredibly kind and genuine. They were so informative about what they were doing and all things hair! I got a blowout and style from Nancy and she did an AMAZING job! I have never had fuller or cuter hair 10/10 recommend!!!!!

Gina was WONDERFUL! I came in for an updo for a wedding, having been disappointed by the outcome at my normal salon. Gina made sure she understood what I was hoping for and checked in throughout, tweaking as necessary. It turned out better than I could have hoped and stayed really well. I highly recommend this shop!

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and booked a full face of makeup for my maternity shoot at Blo Fifth St. Due to being cautious about covid exposure so late in my pregnancy, I called in advance to inquire whether my makeup artist would please be willing to wear a mask. I was told that it was not a problem at all, they would make a note on my appointment, and let the technician know. I went in today and was told by the artist that she “just read the note” on my appointment, was not “ legally mandated to wear a mask”, and preferred not to so she would not be wearing one. I turned to the two other employees at reception to let them know that I’d called in advance and would have cancelled if they could not accommodate my request. I also asked if there was another tech available who would be willing to wear one and they stated she was the only one there. I walked out in tears and had my maternity shoot which I had booked months in advance without makeup done since it was too late to make alternate arrangements. While I understand that it is a person’s prerogative to not mask based on comfort level, it’s unacceptable that I was told by this business that my reasonable accommodation request for a high risk third trimester pregnant woman would be made only to be turned away at the time of my appointment. Additionally that no one had the foresight to call me to discuss once they found the artist on call was unwilling. Rude, shameful, and weirdly confrontational service at this location.

I was attending a wedding in Austin and I thought I’d gave this place a shot the girl who washed my hair before the manager took over needed some more practice but overall no complaints and I wish she worked in Houston cause I would defiantly go back to her as my stylist!

0/10 do not recommend. Came here because Drybar was booked out for SXSW. When I walked in, there was nobody at the desk. After 10 minutes, I walked to the back and was told by a stylist to knock on a door that said “employees only”. I did and when they opened, it was around 7 people sitting in a tiny room who all just stared at me like I was inconveniencing them.

They also are super accommodating with schedules and always find a way to squeeze me in and get me out the door in under 45 min. The cost for hair and makeup is also very reasonable in comparison to other stylists in town. Blast services are well worth the money.Philip is seriously the best makeup artist!!
