Critical: Quality, ValueMy first review was either deleted or not approved…or idk. But I’ve had two bad experiences here and won’t go back. First time the stylist dropped a huge amount of shampoo in my eye which was extremely painful. All I got was a mediocre hair cut and a burning red eye. They gave me 30% off and that was it.Second time I tried to get my reddish brown hair dyed to a darker brown to remove the red. I got over processed emo black and the worst hair cut I have ever seen in my life. It was so uneven I had to go back and have another stylist fix it. Which ended up taking even more length off and now my beautiful long curly hair is pitch black and way too short. See the attached photo for how uneven the hair cut was.Both stylists were very nice, and the second was able to fix it up but that doesn’t justify such poor quality of service and results from such an expensive salon. First time the stylist dropped a huge amount of shampoo in my eye which was extremely painful. All I got was a mediocre hair cut and a burning red eye. They gave me 30% off and that was it.

Alexis was very professional and very open minded.She made great recommendations on treatments to do for my next service, she was great for consulting and I walked away feeing she did a very thorough job and paid attention to what I wanted.I’ve never had that kind of experience before and so happy I came here.Now I’ve found a place where I’m excited to go get my hair done. I had an incredible experience today at Blaze. Alexis was very professional and very open minded.

Positive: Professionalism, ValueBlaze was able to get me in very fast when I called to ask about my hair not turning out how I expected. I had a very pleasant experience, I forgot my hairdressers name but she was very sweet and took her time doing my hair. I’m not 100% where I want my hair to be as far as color and style but I think this is a good start. I like that they didn’t make me feel bad because I had to go in again to get my color fixed. Blaze was able to get me in very fast when I called to ask about my hair not turning out how I expected. I had a very pleasant experience, I forgot my hairdressers name but she was very sweet and took her time doing my hair. I’m not 100% where I want my hair to be as far as color and style but I think this is a good start. I like that they didn’t make me feel bad because I had to go in again to get my color fixed. I will continue to get my hair done here.

My first time there I went in with a bad at home dye job in major need of being fixed. They were upfront with me right a way giving me a price overview before beginning and made sure I was okay with each part of the bill (they still give this to me if I ask for it when trying something new). The costumer service has always been above and beyond any place I have gone before, and their efforts to keep clients safe during COVID-19 attests to that. I could not recommend them enough! I have been getting my hair done at Blaze Color Salon in Coralville for about 2-3 years now, and will never go anywhere else. My first time there I went in with a bad at home dye job in major need of being fixed. They were upfront with me right a way giving me a price overview before beginning and made sure I was okay with each part of the bill (they still give this to me if I ask for it when trying something new). The costumer service has always been above and beyond any place I have gone before, and their efforts to keep clients safe during COVID-19 attests to that. I could not recommend them enough!
