So, I just got through walking to the closest barbershop from my house on one of the hottest days of the year. I arrived at 9:06 according to the Internet they open at nine. So I called them to see if they’re running late. Turns out they’re not running late they’re not showing up today. Now, I ran a business for 36 years. In the Northeast where you have snow storms ice storms. Sometimes hail, sometimes hurricanes, sometimes tornadoes, and I have never not been open when I said I would be open. I didn’t wait for customers to just show up and find out I’m not open. There wasn’t even anything on the door. Well, I figured I’d give them the benefit of the doubt. I called the phone number and a gentleman answered and basically told me they weren’t coming in today. He didn’t offer an explanation they just said something came up. Now, I’ve lived in downtown Fort Myers for two years. I have not yet gone to this barbershop even though it is the closest one to my home. Partly because of the negative reviews. You only have about 56 reviews and a large amount are negative. You do have some positive ones too so I figured today I’d go. Now, you probably wouldn’t be surprised I will never go again. What are you going to do.

It will be very hard going back to a chain haircut place after my awesome haircut and experience at Blake’s. The staff was very friendly and kind. After a short wait, Matt cut my hair. The thoroughness and attention to detail with every side was impressive to say the least. I walked out feeling like a million bucks. I will definitely be back. If you need a haircut, this is where to go!

I have been to all the chains and I consider myself lucky if they don’t butcher my hair. This place for 2 dollars more than your average franchise salon offers a great atmosphere and a great haircut for 18 bucks. If you need a hair cut in Fort Myers this is the place to go.

Blakes is an old fashioned barber shop, not a salon. The barbers are all friendly and each have their own styles. It took a ehile but their are two i hope will be around for at least 10 years.

Just say No! The lady that cut my son’s hair was awful. Should have walked out when I tried to tell her what we wanted and she said she already knew. We are visiting from out of state and figured a barber shop that had been around so long was a safe option. WRONG! Then she tries to wash his hair and the other employee had to tell her to put the booster under him. After a soaking wet shirt, she moved him back to the other chair. She proceeded to butcher my son’s hair. Apparently she measures like a fisherman and 1/4 inch is really an inch. It was enough that I walked out and left my husband to deal with it before making a scene. NEVER AGAIN.
