My 4 year old son was in need of a good haircut. He had a lot of anxiety so we made a trip up there to meet with a barber before we booked the appointment. Sam, (his new barber) greeted my son, and with my approval gave him some candy. My son wasn’t scared anymore, he got a phenomenal cut and Sam made him feel comfortable the whole time. I will never take my son anywhere else. If you need a good cut give this place a try!

DJ and Antoine were exceptional business people DJ cut my hair he was meticulous and gave me a great chop. It was empty on a Thursday morning and he made sure that my four-year-old son who was with me not getting a haircut was happy and contempt well I could not attend to his rambunctious self. Today was our 1st time trying Black Shears out, it was recommended to me when I was trying to find a place that worked for my son. My son has autism so things like a hair cut can be a little tricky, taking extra time & trying different things to keep him comfortable. On top of that I had my 1 1/2yr old daughter with me, she wasn’t getting a cut but she decided she was going to be a little “extra” while her brother was in the chair.

Called to ask some questions about the business and if they’d be comfortable taking me in as a client. The (assumed) lady who answered was immediately rude and talked to me like I was an infant. After less than five minutes I declined any services there because of the customer service. Please be more considerate to your anxious callers.

We went to Black Shears for my son’s hair cut. He’s autistic and Redd worked with him the entire time whether he was overwhelmed or just didn’t like something. I was impressed by how much he was saying he would go back when I asked him because he’s been against hair cuts anywhere since moving back into the area.

I cannot express how much I appreciate barber DJ. I went into the hair cut stressed and thinking it would start and end in a melt down. To my surprise it started smoothly and ended smoothly with no melt downs! From the way he combed his hair to pulling the clippers away at the right moments and giving breaks. That’s all we need.
