I have been a customer here for at least 10 years. I love the atmosphere, it’s casual but professional and there is NO drama. All of the stylists get along and you can tell that they are all dedicated to their craft. My original stylist left after 5 years and so I tried several other ones at the salon and they were all great. They were very conscientious during the pandemic and I always felt safe given the level of precautions they took. I also feel like their prices are super fair, I don’t feel like I am being gauged. Overall I am a totally satisfied customer!

(Picture of what I ended up leaving Orchid Salon with a picture I showed the stylist of what I wanted ) Had my first visit at Orchid a couple of weeks ago, I asked for a natural blonde color and I even showed pictures to the stylist of my previous color toning full highlights and what I ended up leaving with is a yellowish bleached horrible toning way off of what I asked for and to top it all of my forehead had strings of bleached hair not colored properly. I told the stylist about it and he only booked me to correct that branch of bleached hair instead of also correcting the color I wanted. Customer service was ok, experience definitely not, So if you are looking to get a nice blonde don’t go there.

I’ve been coming to Black Orchid for 6 years now because of the amazing work they do. My hair is naturally almost black and my stylist, Emali, worked tirelessly on getting me to the platinum level I always wanted. She set proper expectations, walked me through the process and gave me information on aftercare. The rest of the staff is equally as friendly and knowledgeable (Charles and Sean! Looking at you both!). I’ve never felt the need to look for another salon because I’ve always been taken care of here!

Veronica is the best hair stylist I have ever found! She is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything so throughly. Also all the staff is wonderful and friendly! It’s a great environment and seems like everyone there really likes working there. This is THE place to go for all your hair cuts, styling, blowouts, coloring, highlighting and more.

Veronica is the best!!! This is the third salon I’ve followed her too and I’m so glad she’s finally found her “forever home”. 🙂 the owners of this salon seem to really take care of their people and they handled covid expertly. Love the front desk staff too. All great and highly recommend!

I do not recommend this salon in the least bit. I had a terrible experience the first time I went there where the stylist did a terrible job at my hair color. Later I was switched to hairstylist and when I went in for my appointment the price was far higher than what I had been quoted over the phone. The receptionist and hairstylist were both super unhelpful and difficult to work with. I wasted a whole day by going to the salon and not even getting my hair done because of deceptive ness with customers and shadiness of the business. Don’t go to this salon. Not only did I have a bad experience the first time the second time it was just a huge waste of my time and I had to go somewhere else to get my hair done. 100% terrible customer service. Worst salon I have ever been to in Austin!

I have followed Veronica through three hair salons because she is a miracle worker for my thick curly hair. She also does fabulous color. Go see her! You won’t regret it. Black Orchid is a really great space too. It is somewhat upscale but not pretentious and everyone is really friendly and helpful. Hairstyling, Haircut

I have never been denied service at a salon before, and I had to hold back tears from the embarrassment I just experienced. This was my second time here, and the stylist who worked with me last time was unavailable so I went with another: Bailey. After waiting weeks for my appointment, I was told on arrival that she could not provide me the balayage service I requested because she assessed my hair as being fried and over-colored. My hair is curly, so although it looks frizzy, it is very healthy and can handle a blow-dry and coloring. Bailey was unwilling to work with my hair, explaining she felt it would not react well to the treatment, despite my insistence that I received this service often and even had it done successfully during my first time at Black Orchid. With poor taste, I was told in front of numerous other customers that if I wanted the treatment, I would have to book with another stylist because she won’t work with my hair. I will not be coming back, and I advise those with naturally curly hair to be cautious of who you book your appointment with at this salon.
