New to California and figured I’d give something in my neighborhood a try. Nice shop and nice vibe, but below average cut experience. Booked with Javi who was nice and personable but was 15 minutes late for a 30 minute appointment. Asked for a low fade and he was asking if I wanted my sideburns squared? Pretty much gave me an even on all sides and didn’t line me up all the way and then just tapered my edges after asking to fix it. Seemed legit looking at his booking app profile but just not the quality you’d expect for a $45 price tag before tip. Might just have to be very specific and bring pics. Appreciate the service but may look elsewhere for now. No disrespect, hope he improves.

You can’t go wrong with Black Market Barbershop. Great environment and my go to for a haircut in the San Diego area. Very welcoming and everyone is very easy to talk to. You can trust anyone here with reviving you with a haircut. Kurt especially, from personal experience, knows what he’s doing and I can always trust with giving me a good cut. Called ahead to see if they could fit me in as a walk in, they said they definitely could. Came in 10 min later, sat in the lobby for 45 min while the barber’s Pit Bull barked in my ear. Ran out of time, had to leave. If you can’t see someone between appointments, don’t tell them that. That’s why I called in the first place. What a waste of my time.
