Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueGot my sew in done abt 2 days ago. Area was ghetto(its was. Event center not a salon) my. Her fingers were constAntly in my eye . Was VERY rough with my natural hair and even rougher with my bundles. She caused them to knot . Also didnt get the color or style i wanted as well. Customer service was horrible. Would not recommend going here! Uses way too much heat on hair! Not a good place for sew ins she seemed inexperienced. Her payment options are also messed up. Got my sew in done abt 2 days ago. Area was ghetto(its was. Event center not a salon) my. Her fingers were constAntly in my eye . Was VERY rough with my natural hair and even rougher with my bundles. Critical: Quality, ValueWent in for micro braids expecting to be there for a while but it only took 3 hours with one person on my head and I see why. The spaces are way to big . The braids are falling out, knots are untying and I’m not satisfied. The hair on the other hand was good quality hair for 40 dollars a bag but her work is not Good at all. Really shows how she treat her sisters . Sorry will not be back. Nor recommend. Either way my braids did not last at all . Went in for micro braids expecting to be there for a while but it only took 3 hours with one person on my head and I see why. The spaces are way to big . The braids are falling out, knots are untying and I’m not satisfied. The hair on the other hand was good quality hair for 40 dollars a bag but her work is not Good at all. Amanda does my hair and I love it. I’m transitioning and you can’t tell my natural hair from the relaxer. Being originally from NY it’s amazing that you can’t find a stylist who knows how to do black hair. I came to her after I went to E&G and my braids ripped my edges out. I’m so glad I found her!

My appointment was scheduled for 10am, I arrived shortly before my scheduled time as she’s doing my hair a potential client calls, a bit later she arrives, she stops doing my hair to work on the other customer! Needless to say I was there 8 hours as if I was working there. The amount I paid wasn’t worth the service! Never again! I don’t know a lot about extensions but this I do know, she’s not the person to recommend AND that promotional offers on yelp….a joke!

Amanda braids my daughter’s hair every 2 months and has been doing it for over a year. She does beautiful braids and twists! My daughter loves her because she is fast (Senegalese Twists in 4 hours) and she doesn’t braid unnecessarily tight. I’ve tried others but she is my top pick.

I’ve been getting my hair done with Black Hair Unlimited for about two years now and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. I feel like I’m going to see family whenever I have an appointment. The service is done flawlessly and Amanda always perfects my wild imaginations with different and crazy ideas of hairstyles every time I come in. I always think “I hope she can pull this style off” and its completely a success in the end! I really have nothing technical that I could criticize in my two years of the service. BHUnlmtd is really an awesome hair service and provider and I really appreciate the diligence and talent put into every style that I’ve rocked since being with BHUnlmtd!

I have been in Austin for 6 mons and have yet to find a black hairdresser until now! Amanda is amazing and really knows how to braid with out taking your edges out. I didn’t have an issue with an english barrier as they all speak very good English. The salon is very modest but it is clean and they are very professional! I will be returning!

The front of my hair looks ok but I can’t wear it down bc the middle is horrible, the sections are too big and the partings are too far apart so it makes it look like I have bald spots. And the majority of my hair was left out on the ends. I wanted braids for a protective style however most of my hair is still exposed. Definitely not worth the price I paid. The price would’ve been fair had it been done right. Definitely won’t be going back. But the staff is really friendly.
