I have naturally curly caucasian hair. I made an appointment at BJs salon and spa because they advertised they can cut naturally curly hair. I went in with hair that was down to my mid back and needed a trim and some minor shaping (trim the layers). At the appointment the stylist (who they recommended as the pro curly hair stylist) was going to start cutting my hair dry. When I said my hair doesn’t do well when cutting it dry she said this is how I cut it. I should have left. That is on me, but I let her continue to cut it and trusted her based on the claimed experience. I ended up getting the worse haircut I have ever had and a year later I am still trying to fix. She cut my hair to my shoulders (not a trim). The layers were awful and random and made huge holes in my hair. A year later I am still trying to fix what she did. Anyone with curly hair can tell you it takes years to fix. I reported the incident to the manager, and, after seeing photos they gave me my money back and offered to try and cut more to fix it. No way was I going to let them cut more. I have slowly been trimming it to fix the mess she made. I am writing this review so others with naturally curly hair don’t experience this same horrible thing. If you have naturally curly hair I would not go here.

I had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Solon at BJ South last week. I don’t usually complain because we can all have a bad day, but I experienced a hairdresser with a nasty attitude and even worse customer service. She actually cut my hair when I told her not to, she kept trying to bully and badger me into what she thought I needed and she threw a hairbrush at the mirror when I asked for her to use a pick on my hair instead. She should not be at a high end salon, treating people like this. Never again!

Critical: QualityI’ve been to this Salon 3 times now. The first time I got just a cut and it was fine. No problems there. But then I went back a week later to get color done. I showed Jessica what I wanted a blond with a reddish-Auburn color highlights. I said more then once I wanted more blonde then the red color. When she was done I was a orange hair with some few blonde highlights. So I left and by the time I got home I called the salon to complain. It was a very hard thing for me to do because I’m just not that type of person. It’s hard for me to complain about things. So the lady at the desk said her manager said to come in Free of charge to have more blonde put in. So a few days later I go in and have it fixed. (By the same lady, Jessica) and AGAIN I walk out of that salon with red hair and a few blonde highlights!!!!! The only thing she fixed was the orange color. She made it look like The Auburn color I asked for in the first place. Still no more blonde!!! I left and cried on my way home.
