Critical: QualityAt first when I started off with hormone therapy (pellets). I was happy and satisfied. It has been (I believe) 2 yrs since I began the program. I was relieved that I finally found a place that can help me with all of my menopausal symptoms. It did work for me for quite some time actually. I believe things stopped working for me my last two visits with the office (180 days total). Mind you, I had to continue visiting the office every 3 months and $350.00 a visit for new pellets that were no longer working. I had mentioned this concern to Kathy Kotelko, nurse and wife of Dr.). Her first response was “I was at the highest level possible, she couldn’t give me any more strength of testosterone, and then her second response was maybe something in my body changed and we needed to do labs to find out what my levels were so they can adjust the pellets accordingly. I went through the motions hoping for satisfaction eventually. I continued with Kathy’s suggestion and made an appointment for labs. Another $199 (with a discount) for labs to be completed. It’s was at this time I then decided to find someone else to work with. I figured since I already paid for the labs I could just have my records sent to me so I could take my labs to my new doctor. I asked Kathy if I could have my labs sent and she wanted to charge me $50 to get them sent. I asked around a couple more offices that specialized in hormonal treatment and they both agreed that I should not be charged anything, as these are “MY records.” I reached out to Kathy with my concern she tried to justify it by saying every office is different. FYI: I did some checking around and this so far is the only office that charges $50.00 for you to get your medical records sent to you. I was very annoyed with Kathy’s unprofessionalism while the doctor was inserting my pellets in addition. She at times was very sarcastic with him which made me feel uncomfortable. She is (in my opinion) a control freak. Everything has to go her way, or no way at all. Long story short, I’ve yet to receive a phone call back regarding my records. So now I have to get more labs done elsewhere and get charged again. I’m not happy, but as long as I’m moving forward in the process I guess I should be happy. Dr. Kotelko is wonderful. I have no complaints about him. However Kathy makes a difference in the office environment. I would not recommend to this office for the sole reason of Kathy’s demeanor.
