Would have been a 5 star review, up until my last visit. Growing up in Azusa, everyone knows to go to Big Al’s for your haircut, and I always did so. Now that I’m older and starting to loose my hair, I’ve started just shaving my own head. When I want to splurge, I’ll pay for a straight razor shave. I live in Covina now and my local barber wasn’t able to get me in last weekend, so I called Big Al’s and asked if anyone there was able to do a “straight razor shave” and was told that there were 3 barbers there, including Big Al, and that they could do it. When I get there and ask again for a “straight razor shave”, the guy sits me down in the chair and trims my hair so that it is shorter for the razor, then proceeds to shave my head with a power shaver. In the future, unless I get the word from Big Al himself, I’m never getting my head shaved there again. I was so mad I didn’t even tip, especially after the guy charged me $35 for a haircut I didn’t want.

Been going there forever. All the barbers there are easy to talk to extremely friendly and professional. They give you exactly what you ask for. Walk in looking like a mess walk out feeling like a million bucks. This shop definitely had it down right.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI came here before and they were alright but now it’s a very lazy and nonchalant environment the customer service is terrible and the haircuts are even worse. I came in for a fade and was left with a small patch on one side and when a trim is all I want i still had to pay the full $25. I waited for about 30 minutes and the barber who was done left to the liquor store and ignored me completely I honestly didn’t even feel like paying them for how bad the experience was. My son gets his hair cut here and they always do a great job. He went yesterday and got his hair done by a young guy with glasses and he did an amazing job. My son can be fidgety but you can’t tell by looking at his fresh cut! Definitely coming back soon!
