I went to Beyond Royalty Beauty Bar and got butterfly/distressed locs. I was very happy with the outcome and the style lasted for five weeks. I’m now taking out the locs to find out my stylist has glued the ends of my natural hair and the synthetic hair together. I’m spending hours trying to carefully separate the two without having to cut my natural hair off. At this point I’m not sure there’s enough wig glue remover to help me. I had such high hopes for this place and was so happy with how the style turned out. Now I have to worry whether my natural hair will make it out of this. I’m very hurt and disappointed.

Such a great experience here with amazing customer service. Anayah is so talented and took her time with my hair which was tangled really bad from being in a sew in for too long. I won’t be back to get my hair done. My style only lasted 4 days because the incorrect products were used. I’ve never had this happen. I got a twisted updo and this style normally lasts 3 weeks (of course with wrapping it up at night). I was told the style would last 2 weeks but that didn’t happen. I’m disappointed that I wasted my money and have to spend extra somewhere else. Knocking off a star because I called and left message about my experience and nobody has called back.

I wish I can give it 10 stars because this place is freaking amazing. This is my 4th time coming to this establishment and they never disappoint. Today was great, Natalie washed my hair so well and she was so nice asking if the water was too hot and asked if I need anything to drink, man oh man, I felt pampered. After Natalie washed and conditioned my hair, the owner, Ms. Brittany did her thang. Let me tell you, when I say sis is blessed with her hands, she is blessed. I got the silk press and Brittany didn’t disappoint at all. Honey, I came in looking like Ceily from the Color Purple, and came out looking like a Puerto Rican. The atmosphere was calm, you can really just take in the ambiance and relax. This place is great. I would recommend you guys to try it out.

Today was my first time coming into to the shop as a walk in appt. It was beautiful but the service was not good. I came in to get a silk press. Natalie was my stylist, as soon as she sat me in the shampoo chair and I took off my bonnet. The first thing that comes out of her mouth was “ is your hair easy to smooth through” meanwhile she’s white and I’m black. Definitely thought that was a racial slur. Then she barely washed my hair and never comb the condition through my hair but sat me under the dryer and wash it out. My hair looks like a bushy dog. Overall she does not know how to do hair and I won’t ever come back. There is no professionalism in the shop at all.

I would not recommend coming here only for one particular stylist. I was looking forward to getting my hair braided by @styledbydai but unfortunately it wasn’t the experience I expected. From the very beginning she wasn’t welcoming at all. No hello, no conversation. Just straight to the chair and asked if I needed my hair washed. She was also very rough during the braiding. As a stylist it’s your responsibility to make clients feel comfortable and unfortunately I will not be returning to her.

I found this amazing place from Instagram. As a first time customer the staff was very nice, professional and made me feel at home. I went for apres service, which is super hard to find. I was very happy with the cleanliness of the salon, the talent of the nail artist D and their details to clients. I love D and I am definitely coming back here and hope to try other services they offer. They really are a one stop shop and I love it. I’m so happy I stumbled across this place. Beyond Royalty is where it’s at! Period!

I have used weaves for a while now and unfortunately was having a hard time finding a salon that would not only treat me with respect but also knew how to treat my hair. Have been to a few salons and was either not treated well and also had my extensions ( which I buy straight from brasil ) damaged. I came to Daija trough Facebook, from the beginning she was so nice and always available to explain things to me, she knows how to treat my hair and does it in a way that I like. She’s also always giving me tips and letting me know what would be best for my extensions to last longer, booking with her is nice and easy. As far as the salon itself hands down one of the best I’ve been. I rarely go to salons in Maryland because I’ve had my hair messed up too many times, so I am happy I was able to find a place where it’s clean, organized and everyone is so nice and polite and they don’t treat you like you’re bothering them. I have moved from the area now but I still make the drive to see Daija cus I definitely trust my hair with her
