I have been seeing Bethany for a number of years now after finding out she specializes in natural curly hair (she does work with all hair types). When I walked in for the first time with my natural curly hair it was unhealthy and damaged. One of Bethany’s goals with her clients is to educate them. The first thing I want to say is you will never find a more pleasant individual to spend time with and learn from. She listens and genuinely wants to teach and advise as to the best products and styles for your hair. I’m happy to say that it didn’t take long for my hair to become healthy. Along with a hair trim every six weeks, I also get a root touch (I’m 52) and/or color to include highlights and/or lowlights and a brow wax. Her color techniques are amazing and she has the knowledge to inform me what would look best in my hair to compliment me. She’s always up to try new things and puts my mind at ease with decision making. I look forward to my visits as she has her own room within the salon with no interruptions. This is your time alone to be pampered. When you walk out, you’ll feel like the most beautiful woman around. I always do.

I’ve been a long-time advocate for natural curly hair, and been struggling to find a stylist that understands curls. Bethany is that stylist. She started the appointment by listening to how I care for my hair, my goals for my hair, and heard my concerns regarding any curl patterns, texture, condition, etc. After that, the cut began! Bethany was very clear throughout about what she was doing, asking questions as she cut, and although I had serious misgivings (just emotionally, I think…because I’d never had a dry cut before!), the entire cut was liberating. I was removing some old color and letting my natural color (OK…grey hair) shine through, and Bethany was on board with this – she even had a book with some spectacular photos of women doing the same! Because of this goal, there was quite a bit of length cut off, which I went in knowing would happen. It has been two weeks now (I NEVER judge a haircut before the two week mark!), and I have never been as happy with my hair as I am now. It was not only the cut (my curl families are living together in harmony!), but also the education that Bethany provided as to how to best care for my hair, and the ingredients to watch out for. I was also super inspired by Bethany herself – she is an awesome woman doing great things for herself, her family, and her community – I am a huge fan of that! Will be back, will be bringing my son and his curly head (btw – ask about the 2 bookings deal!), I look forward to continuing to be Bethany’s #curlfriend!
