I want to start by saying that this is my favorite Dermatology office in Yuba City. Which is why I gave two stars instead of one. But Beware!! I had been going to them for years and always had great doctors and PAs as well as the front counter people. However I will never be going back because of how I was treated by their corprate billing office. I was having pretty extensive treatment for acne for around 8 months and was required to go in at least once a month. Almost every time I would pay my copay and if there was anything insurance wouldn’t cover from the last appointment. I finished my treatments and came in for one or two more check ups and haven’t needed to go back yet. All of a sudden a few months ago in summer of 2022 I received a voicemail while I was at work on a Friday afternoon threatening to send me to collections from something from November of 2020. I tried to call my local office to confirm the validity but at that time they weren’t open. So that Monday I receive another threatening call and immediately call my office. They confirmed it was something they must have missed during Covid because they had seen me at least 10 times in between and they apologized. While I don’t think their negligence warrants me having to pay something 2 years later it was only $50 so I agreed and paid over the phone. I also requested a paper invoice which I pointed out I had never received before this rude woman called and threatened me of collections. I get off the phone and my elderly mother had immediately called me to tell me that a bill collector had just called and threatened her to pay my bill which she did. I was furious. She never sent me one letter or anything explaining charges. I received one call too late on a Friday and one call Monday afternoon (which I hadn’t ruled out as a scammer) to now harassing my emergency contact and taking payment over the phone for their mistake? I called the billing lady back until she picked up the phone demanded she refunded my mothers money as I had paid which if she didn’t immediately call she would have know! I received no apology nothing. I did receive a call back on my complaint and there was nothing. Nothing for being a loyal patron, no recourse for their mistake or their ignorance, or their total lack of proper business ethics. I am beyond still livid and will not be using another Berman Skin Institute.
