Darra is the hair whisperer. She knows exactly what your hair needs before you do. Show her a picture? She nails it. Ask for a refresh and she has you feeling like a million bucks when you leave the salon. I found her a couple years ago thanks to a friend and I never want to see anyone else. I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my hair since I’ve started seeing her. Blonde, brunette, and everything in between she’s the hair bff you’ve been searching for.

Whenever booked appointment, before that appointment day always call me and tell me that person is not available on that day or they aren’t doing that and this and that . Seriously then why is that and service name is on your website first you update that and then do your business. After doing a lot of research and asking around, I finally decided to go to Benzie Salon. I am a bit skeptical when it comes to choosing a new hairstylist and I am a very picky person. The staff was very hospitable. I explained how I wanted my hair to look and also told them how important it was as I was going to attend my sister’s marriage. Their suggestions and expertise is absolutely phenomenal. The attention to detail, suggestions and conversations were amazing. That’s guys ! Definitely recommend this place if you want to change or cut your hair.

A brilliantly corny, impersonal, overly commercial salon. I had a horrible experience. Unbelievably rough treatment of my hair, It felt like she was relentlessly taking something out on me. Frankly, it was traumatic. After turning my hair into a stringy frizzy mess, she tamed it with a flat iron and styled my hair into that corny broke girl pick-me look you’d see on an HGTV program. I’m so upset I chose to go to this place after I had to cancel with my regular stylist.

I had an appointment with Darra for a balayage and cut. She is professional, knowledgeable, intelligent, beautiful, and is honest about the process to help achieve your hair goal. She was friendly and is phenomenal at her job. I am in the process of going dark to light. She was upfront about how many times I would have to come (due to my previous at home coloring) and said in order to keep my hair healthy I had to space out the bleachings. She does not pressure you to buy unnecessary products but does make great affordable recommendations. Benzie salon is clean, welcoming, has honest pricing, and is a relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend Darra and Benzie, you won’t be dissatisfied. I love my hair and I’m excited to enjoy each phase until I reach the level blonde i am trying to get to.

Tonya is great. As a guy I am reluctant to pay to get my hair cut at a salon, but Tonya gives a haircut that is honestly worth it. She gives suggestions and intuitively understands what you want more than any other stylist I’ve ever been to, in addition to simply being very skilled.
