I have been going to Beni’s for almost 10 years and have never been disappointed. This business is consistent, reliable and very well maintained. They have fair prices, as well as a clean atmosphere. The staff is always very friendly and I’ve never seen them be rude. They love to sing and laugh very sweet women. Most of the time I’m in and out in roughly 4/6 hours depending on the style. They work really fast! Love this place and even though I’ve moved to NC. I drive all the way back to Beni’s to get my hair styled.

Ive been patronizing this establishment for years and lately the service has been TERRIBLE. Earlier this year I made an appointment with Beni, I get there and they tell me she’s on vacation. I got locs a month ago and they started falling out a week later. Upon arrival there was no one there to do my hair so I waited about 30 minutes. Today I asked for 2 strand twist w/hair added for my child. After waiting an hour and 20 minutes I guess Beni thought she was going to do what she wanted and not add hair like I was going to be ok with that. Im not paying for nothing I didn’t ask for. I give every one a chance but 3 strikes your out. I noticed a couple others had appointments and were nit seen today. They are quick to say have a seat with no explanation as to if there is a wait or how long. Communication is terrible. Im not understanding this culture of not wanting to do your job or run an honorable business. What happened to serving the customer so they will want to return. I miss the days where you could go to the gallery on GA Ave and be in and out. Good thing is I have friends that get braids so I can always go elsewhere.

Positive: ProfessionalismI had planned on writing a review earlier but due to deaths in the family I wasn’t able to. I got my hair done on 1/8 and it turned out great. My appointment started 30 minutes late but it only took 4.5 to complete my knotless braids and Laurette (sorry if I spelled it wrong) did a great job. My parts were how I wanted them and they were the right size for me. I had planned on writing a review earlier but due to deaths in the family I wasn’t able to. I got my hair done on 1/8 and it turned out great. My appointment started 30 minutes late but it only took 4.5 to complete my knotless braids and Laurette (sorry if I spelled it wrong) did a great job. Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueHad a horrible experience with this braid shop!! Benis African braiding shop is too money hungry!! I sent a photo in asking for hair pricing, Mrs. Beni, the shop owner, told me the style I wanted was $200… I, therefore, agreed get my braids done like the pic I sent in….When it was my turn to get my hair done, I was told by the hair dresser, i can’t do this style 4 you unless you pay me $ 300. Extremely shocked and dumb founded, i replied, I sent the owner pic, prior to me coming to your shop and I was told 200. Why are you jacking the price up on me? Told her, I never paid 300 for any hair braiding style, and price was already agreed upon , by the owner, why would you change it?? When I refused, to pay the $ 300, as a result, they immediately moved to the next client, like business, as usual. When I comforted Beni, the manager about it, she was very unprofessional and confrontational and she acted like she did’nt know the price she told me was $ 200. This was very upsetting to me. I spoke to Mrs, Beni prior to coming to the shop and we both agreed on pricing that same day. Not only that, I wasted 1.5 hours of my time, waiting to get my hair done. Smh!!Wanted to alert anyone who needs a good hair braiding shop to please be cautious of Ben”s African braiding shop.The customer service poor, they are unprofessional and money hungry and most importantly, they don’t honor their agreement. I had an appointment for medium sized knotless braids, I got them waist length so the cost was $240 (quoted 200 & up for knotless braids). Lola did my braids and it took about 5 hours. The bathroom was clean and I watched them Lysol the chairs & sanitize after they were done with each client and everyone was wearing their masks. All the stylists were nice. I really like my braids and I will definitely be going back.

I went to Beni’s on a referral and was so pleased with my Micro braids with pony hair. Nora did an excellent job! Great customer service. I have a head full of hair and Nora made sure she took her time with each part of it. I got compliments all day! Thanks for such a great experience. I will be back!
