I’m in my 40’s and have only have acrylics on my nails a few times in my life, even though I have always wanted them. The reason is because every single time, when at other businesses, they cut and burn my cuticles with the drill bits sanding down on me. It seems like they are rushing and don’t care. So it stings and burns when the chemicals are applied. And when I leave the salon, it hurts so bad. To touch anything. Any amount of pressure on the nail by touching the nail tips to a surface typing, cooking etc always hurt so bad. I thought I guess that’s just how it is supposed to be. Sorry it’s so long. I had to explain why Bellaviva is so amazing. I went in a few months ago to Bellaviva. Hopeful it would be different…..AND IT WAS! The person that did my nails is Winston. He is amazing!!! He is gentle, efficient and so talented. He makes the time go by so fast and the nails look so perfect!! To be clear. I have pretty short acrylic nails with the gel paint top coat and they are a very conservative length due to my work/home life. I trust him so much I let him decide what color/design!!! And for the first time in my life, my nails do not hurt upon leaving the salon with a fresh set applied. They don’t hurt!!! It’s like magic. He has the magic hand. I have never in my life gotten multiple refills because of the pain and tenderness on my nail beds. Now there isn’t any. And yet they are beautiful for for 4 weeks. The durability is phenomenal, the value is outstanding. And while I try to be proactive and watch to make sure I’m careful as not do anything to damage them, life happens. I work. Work is demanding. Life is demanding. And sometimes because they are so comfortable I forget and bang them around through the course of the day. But they still look phenomenal. Not one break. The only time they will start hurting is when it is so grown out it needs a fill like they are now. I plan on going today or tomorrow. I can only go if he’s there. I will not see anyone else. I, in my life, always had “ugly” nails. Nails that chipped and snagged my clothes. Nails that peeled like an onion. I hated that. For the first time ever and in my 40’s they are amazing. I trust Winston completely. The prices are very reasonable and competitive. The staff is always so friendly. At first salons can feel intimidating, but at Bellaviva, they instantly make you feel welcome and wanted. Appreciated. I can appreciate that. I have been to the hole in the wall places in town for pedicures, and the appreciation just isn’t there. Once I had someone so rude starting to work on my feet while they were in the little hot tub, and she was speaking to her co-worker in another language and I just knew she was talking about me cause everytime she said something she would look at my feet and the other girl would peak over too. I left. As soon as I realized what was happening I pulled my feet out wet and all and left. That was the worst experience I ever had. I didn’t get my nails done for long time after that. I say all this because when it comes to nails and in particular acrylics and services I have had really horrible experiences. But Bellaviva and Winston have changed my whole outlook and Situation. Have given me the access to this thing I have wanted for so long. It has definitely increased my confidence. When people ask to see my nails and tell me how beautiful they Are!!! It just is an awesome feeling. But really I don’t do it for others. It is a treat all to and for myself for working hard.

One star because my first experience here was great!!!! She cut my hair and did a really good job, was super precise and did what I wanted for my cut. HOWEVER, when I went to get it colored, I left the salon AFTER closing, on the verge of tears. I specifically showed my stylist what I WANTED (1st picture) but this is what I got (2nd picture). I even showed her what I DID NOT WANT. She reassured me that she can get as close as possible to the color I wanted, but as pictured she did the exact opposite. I spent over $400+ on my hair for a special event, only for it to be a complete disaster!!!!! I am frustrated and disappointed at the fact that I spent so much money only for the result to be devastating. I wish she could’ve told me that the look I wanted couldn’t be done in one sitting… then I would understand. But now I’m left to figure out what to do next.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Bellaviva Salon at Windward Mall on a few occasions while in Oahu on my sailboat. Gracie is a consummate professional in her waxing services! She is quick, thorough and efficient, and will engage you in conversation while keeping you comfortable so the time really flies! Kathy is an expert in facials which will leave you feeling pampered, nourished and relaxed. The salon is beautiful and well maintained and the staff will welcome you like a friend. I highly recommend this salon for any of the services they offer. As a world traveler who is constantly in search of good salons, I can attest that this one is top notch!

Today was not a good day. Normally the service is pretty great. My service prior with the female staff is always excellent and no issues. However, today the gentlemen manicurist cut too far while doing my pedicure. I’m not sure he knew how far to cut. He cut me twice on both feet. I am extremely displeased with today’s service. Not sure if I will return as a patron.
