Just got my nails done by Kim! I’ve also gotten them done by Daisy before. The service is quick, friendly, and the spa is very clean. I usually get gel manicures and the pedicures they offer are great too. Prices are relatively fair and you’re treated well. My friend was even able to squeeze in a pedicure on a busy day. I go to this salon all the way from Laurel so it’s def worth a visit. I’ve yet to be disappointed.

Usually I have a great time here. But today left me in tears literally AT the salon. I’m talking waterworks folks. I knew when I sat down it was going to be my favorite… when she didn’t wrap my nails in foil to soak of the gel but had them sit in a bowl of acetone and grind it off. It seems quick and damaging. But when grinding, she kept going on my cuticle and it hurt, and I would tell her and she would give it a minute then keep going. Then the nail file to get a coffin shape. She was digging the nail file into my skin to the point that it BLED. I was bleeding onto the nail file. And it burned, as you can imagine. Then more filing and grinding. She re-dipped several nails, it felt inexperienced. Then went to grind the same nail with the blood and the grinder literally was in my wound and it hurt so bad so I kind of winced and she said sorry, then went back to grinding but grinded too hard and a chunk of color came off my nail. So then she had to re dip it again but my open wound is there??? And she just dunked it in the dip powder?? So then there’s powder on my blood and skin. And it hardened. And I was crying the whole time bc I was in pain and nervous. She kept saying sorry. Then we got to the design, and they’re… different colors. I have 3 orange nails and 2 with orange designs. The colors don’t match, it looks weird. Maybe they didn’t have the correct shade but I would have liked to have the option to change it ya know if that was the case. I paid full price for these and some of my nails are different shapes and my thumbs are awkwardly long compared to my other nails so idk if she didn’t cut it enough or what. I thought after my skin bleeding I would get a discount but I didn’t. I still tipped 20% bc I know mistakes happen and maybe she’s new but I really was not expecting full price but didn’t say anything. After I left I literally started balling my eyes out because I was so ready to go home. That all being said, last time I had my nails done, Kim did them and she was wonderful. Really felt like she was taking her time with my nails (soaking, etc) and she did amazing with the designs. I tried to schedule an appt with her today but she was booked, now I know I will definitely always be seeing Kim. Sorry for the rant, I never post reviews like this but I’ve also never cried in a nail salon. I attached pics of my inspo vs what I got. Not a coffin shape and sole design is off which I understand, but you can see the color difference and my long thumb. My last 2 sets of dip with tips were done here and I LOVED them and attached pics of them (USA with Kim, green with Tee). Really wish I had a better experience today.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI really love this place. Jade is absolutely wonderful. They are the only local salon where my nails stay on the full 2-3 weeks. Jade took her time with my designs, as she always does, and they looked phenomenal. I’ll keep paying back to Jade as long as I can! These nails were done by Jade for a recent Disney trip.

Very happy! I got a dip manicure and gel ‘Honey & Milk’ pedicure from Tee. I got exactly what I asked for, and Tee was very gentle and precise.

Cathy did my nails and was super patient with me and listened to all of my concerns when it came to nail shape. Lovely setting just make sure to book an appointment first since sometimes they’re so booked that they can’t take walk-ins (just a heads up). Only deducted a star bc of the gel polish on my acrylic nails starting to peel only 1 week out. I hoped they’d last longer but that’s really the only concern.

This place is great. I made my appointment on line for a mani and Pedi. I got there a little before my time. When you come in, you wash your hands and check in on the iPad. This place at the time of review still require masks inside, which was fine with me.

When I was in Hyattsville last year for a family visit, I got pedicures here twice in three weeks. Loved the salon, the personnel, and the quality of the pedicure. Sadly, when I visited in late September, my experience was the opposite. The pedicure wasn’t great – not nearly as pampering as the ones I got last year – but it was okay. However, the manicure was nothing like what was described on the website for a classic manicure, e.g., the hand massage was a quick rub.

I have been going to Bella for a while now. I typically get their Apres (GelX) nails, which cost me $90 once you add gel and $105 once I tip. Sam does them and they last – he is great. The last time I scheduled (online, on their website) I walked into their establishment and they told me that Sam was busy, and sent me to another person. I asked explicitly if this person has experience with Apres nails and the manager lied – I ended up having to help the girl put my nails on. The manager’s response to this was was I should have called rather than scheduling on their website, which the website instructs people to do. Sure enough, these nails lifted within 48 hours. I went in this evening to have them fixed and the lady repaired my nails but the color in the repaired nails was wrong. Granted I told her what color we used, she basically said “oh well” and that it was my fault when she could have offered to repaint them all. A ton of cackling and chatting in their language and the other clerk laughs. I have spent a ton of money here, have sent clientele their way, consistently tip >15% (since the workers operate on low wages) and still, they were disrespectful. I will soak these nails off on my own and find another salon tomorrow. I have no issue spending money for GOOD services and establishments that appreciate my business. I have never had to walk out of a nail salon in my entire life, but certainly did today. Three thumbs down!!
