This place is amazing! . Highly recommended to anyone who wants a barber with substance! It’s not easy finding a good barber nowadays and I just got lucky with Matt! He does amazing work. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueDue to some changes with my job and things going on in my life, I haven’t been able to get in to see Matt much lately which has been bumming me out. But Matt has been my barber for a long time. I first met him when he was cutting hair at a Barber shop in Portland long before he opened up his new Beech Ridge shop in Scarborough. After the Barber I’d been seeing for about five years left, Matt took over and had big shoes to fill. Not only did he fill those shoes but he needed a bigger pair!The Barber/customer connection with Matt was instant. It took only minutes to understand and see Matt’s passion for his work. I remember a time where I was getting up from the chair after a haircut and he asked me to sit back down real quick. He’d noticed a tiny spot on one side on the back of my neck that wasn’t quite level. One precise buzz stroke later I was up and on my way. Neither I nor anyone else would have likely noticed had he left it alone but that’s not Matt’s style. Matt takes great pride in his craft and isn’t content to have his customers or himself settle for anything less than 100%. Aside from his stellar hair cutting skills, Matt too is just an all-around great guy. He’s hardworking, polite, friendly, and professional. He opened up his own shop, which is a fantastic, comfortable, single-chair spot, just before the pandemic hit. Thankfully, he withstood those few weeks where most businesses were ordered to be closed and from what I hear, business has been picking up ever since. I couldn’t be happier for him.If you’re reading this review you must be reading it because you’re thinking about checking out Beech Ridge and giving Matt a shot. Trust a guy with four+ years of twice per month haircut experience and stop thinking.
