I booked an appointment and got a babysitter for my 4 year old son. As soon as I got there they started rushing through my haircut because someone wanted their hair colored after me. Instead of listening to my preferences she cut my hair uneven and then used thinning sheers on one side of my hair. The only reason I booked this appointment was to even out my hair from a barber who gave me an uneven undercut so this was infuriating. I have curly hair and thinning sheers completely ruins my curls. When I complained “What are you doing?” I was told this would remove the bulk and that she knew better than me. I never asked to remove bulk and this tactic completely ruined the natural flow of my hair. I wasn’t asking “What are you doing?” because I was interested in what you were doing, I asked because I was absolutely appalled that you did this when I didn’t ask for it. My instructions were super clear and you couldn’t focus on me long enough to provide a good service. What a waste of time and money, going to this place was a nightmare.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. First of all, such GOOD VIBES! Always happy jazz music playing, kind and happy folks who work there, and it just feels like a sanctuary where you can come and get some quality pampering. Sima (the owner) is a true expert in hair, and especially curly hair! I’ve been to people who claim to be experts at curly hair and I’ve had so many horrible experiences. The stylists at Basin St are also highly skilled colorists, and wonderful with extensions and Brazilian Blowouts. They don’t take shortcuts and they always do the job right! At this point, I’m not even willing to experiment with any other salons any more. I live in San Diego and I drive all the way out just to get my hair done. This salon just stands above all others.

Great salon, great atmosphere, but even better is the owner/stylist, Sima. A passionate and talented hair stylist who has a special touch and managed to rule my unruly thick, frizzy, oily scalp, she ends, hair. Will definitely continue coming to this salon, because it is hard to find talented hair stylists so when you find one that knows how to handle your difficult hair, it doesn’t make sense to go anywhere else. Just wish it was closer to home, and despite that, I will still make the 30 minute drive to get my hair done by Sima.

The fade is amazing and the cut is so professionally done. i highly recommend Basin Street hair for your Men hair cuts. As for ladies, i love the way my wife hair is done , She always complains about her hair cuts and the fact that most of the time the hair dressers burn her hair ….lol But this time no more complaining she got the exact color she always wanted and she looks so beautiful. . I had the most life changing experience at this Salon. I called after a Google search of “Best Hair Extension Salon in OC” and they came up. I called. Got a consultation appt within 2 days then actual treatment appt two days later. In less than 3 hours this GENIOUS STYLIST transformed not only my hair but self esteem.
