I’ve had my daughter hair done here for the first and last time. We got her box braids. I should have taking her myself, but I had to work. So my husband took her. Box braids are suppose to last a least 3months. I was so unsatisfied with the work that was done. Which lady that did her hair was unskilled. My daughter hair started coming out within 2 weeks of it being done. Her natural hair was sticking out though the braids. So I took her braids out and when I was taking them out. It was like the lady used glue on her natural hair. It was soooo hard to take out. Finally I got the hair back to normal. I will never take her here again. Poor hair dresser who didn’t know what she was doing.

Unfortunately I had a very poor experience at this salon due to miscommunication. Although I had called and made an appt for knotless braids over the phone, it wasn’t until 2 hours into the process and halfway through my head (I couldn’t see the back) that I realized my stylist Clara had been doing box braids. We had communicated well about length and color, which she executed perfectly, however the style was not at all the knotless braids I had shown her several pictures of, and certainly not the size I had asked for either. Because it was not the style that I had requested, I had them removed. They kept my $100 deposit to cover the cost of the wasted hair and the braider’s time (which I understand) and I left with my hair undone and out 100$. I recently moved to Salt lake and have been looking for a new braider but I will not return to this location again. Next time I’ll be sure to check the BACK OF MY HEAD after the first row of braids to ensure everyone is on the same page and avoid a situation like this again. Otherwise, it seemed like a decent enough salon apart from my personal negative experience.

Baraka Beauty Supply and Salon has a very pleasant atmosphere and so many quality products. I love the private cubicles for clients. The staff are warm and friendly. Ariel is so skilled and so sweet. She takes real pride in her work. She spent time detailing my hair. Her cubicle is really pretty and elegant. And she has all kinds of snacks for her clients. Highly recommended.

Ariel has been stylist for about a year now and she is amazing. I get my roots bleached and extensions tightened every 5 weeks- and my hair has never been more healthy and beautiful. She is a perfectionist and takes care of me, making sure my blonde hair is just right. (No yellow!). I love her and recommend her to every friend and family member who asks 🙂 I’ve been getting my hair done for 20 years now, and Ariel is the best I’ve ever had. The owner, Judy, is amazing as well. They know their stuff 🙂

Love this salon! From Mary at the front in retail to Ariel my stylist! I always leave out of there feeling and looking amazing! I struggle finding a salon that does Black Hair Care here in Utah and sometimes I just don’t trust what people will do to my hair but Ariel was amazing from day 1 and I’ve since become her long time client! Wonderful service and great expertise!
