My whole experience at Bang Salon at the Yards was lovely. I’m always nervous to try a new salon and was very pleasantly surprised. Everyone is so warm and helpful and I felt like a regular despite it being my first appointment. Tristen was so attentive to every detail I requested and did an excellent job. I felt like my hair looked healthy, fresh, and so flattering to my face shape when I left. I will definitely be back, thank you!

I saw Katie at the Yards for highlights. I met her for the first time and she was totally rude, didn’t even say hello and did not extend any pleasant greetings. She then said here’s a hairdryer – showing me how to use and said blow out your hair.

I’ve given the same stylist a few chances because he is pleasant and starts the job with enthusiasm. Unfortunately his technique leaves a lot to be desired (lack of continuing training?) and my highlighting turns out spotty and patchy each time. I pay too much for a simple foil highlighting to end up with results that look like I used a frosting cap at home and some of bleach bled through. Not professional, but there is also no oversight in this salon. Can’t just crank it out like an assembly line, folks.

I have a lot of fine, wavy hair that falls flat if it is cut wrong. Katie has cut it perfectly a few times now and she also makes my bangs look flawless. I’m able to step out of the shower and go about my day without having to heat style my hair now, and my waves pop! I highly recommend her services if you have wavy/curly hair! She’s quick, friendly and professional. I’ll be going to her for the rest of my time in DC.

Never going back. The first time I went they had me wait 20 minutes, but this is not unusual for busy hair salons so I didn’t mind much. Haircut was fine, so I didn’t hesitate to give them another try for my next haircut.

To start with I don’t like leaving businesses bad reviews because I understand things happen. Had anyone from the salon reached back out after I tried several times to contact them and get the issue resolved I wouldn’t be leaving this review. I went for a haircut and color (balayage) almost 2 months ago. I basically spent 2.5 hours there to get my hair bleached and dyed back to my same exact hair color, I was trying to lighten up for summer. When the stylist realized what she had done she rushed through my haircut, didnt even trim the front long layers and rushed me out. I should have made a stink at the time but i felt bad for her and hoped maybe in the sun I’d see some sort of highlight…nothing. I tried several times to either get a refund or to have the color corrected only to never hear back from the business. Don’t waste your hard-earned money to walk out of this place looking the same or worse. I understand mistake happen but if they cant even be bothered to respond when they make a mistake they clearly don’t value customers.
