Waited for one month to get an appointment. My face is in extreme pain. Arrived 10 min late (yes, my fault) but was told I couldn’t see the doctor. The office was extremely stressed out and the office staff were obviously not happy with their jobs. I guess my advice since I didn’t see the doctor, is that unlike every doctor’s office which has a 15 min time frame for flexibility, this one doesn’t. So make your appointment on time if not 30 min before

Very knowledgeable, friendly doctors and PA’s. The front desk staff is overall pleasant, there is one individual that works up front that needs some lessons in manners and professionalism with how she talks to people. I just left the office and she embarrassed me because I was trying to walk out with my chart (not knowing what I needed to do next.) she told me to stand where I was and wait in a very curt manner. Very rude and embarrassing. Completely unnecessary.

First time patient here. They got me in on short notice. The nurse or nursing assistant who took all my information once I got in the room was very professional and friendly. The PA I saw, Leigh, was one of the best PAs I’ve had. She took her time considering the issue I have. She was very confident and professional and compassionate. She had the doctor come in to give her assessment as well. That actually made me feel even better about her.

I have visited this clinic last year Dr. Bakal is very experienced and great with his practice, front desk is very polite and welcoming. However I had a bad experience with billing department with one of my appointment fees. They lied that they attempted multiple outreach via mail, I got only one bill statement last year. I called MD office right away to confirm since my appointments fees are same and I thought i have paid already, I didn’t get billing rep on call and i have to leave voicemail. I didn’t get call from them so i called again and had to left voicemail. Since, i didn’t get any call and I assumed that i have paid this bill already and they might send statement before i made payment and I thought it is taking care of since they are not returning my calls.

I went to Bakal for an assessment with Leigh. She and the office staff were very friendly and welcoming. The biopsy came back positive for skin cancer, which I obviously had to get removed. Dr Jeff Bakal performed my procedure. While his bedside manner could have been more friendly, he was all business and removed 100% of the cancerous tissue. I was concerned about a scar, since the cancer was near my scalp. After fully healing, I was pleasantly surprised that my scar is only a small straight line. This means he did a great job analyzing the area he had to remove and stitched it properly. There were no issues with insurance or billing and my follow up for stitch removal was a breeze. Overall, my experience was great.

Scores so low I wish I could take away stars other people gave in their reviews. Wait times are longer than the appointments. Bakal has 0 manners and is 100% guilty of stereotyping people off his assumptions. Exposes parts of your body unrelated to your issues, without warning, offers his unsolicited opinion on who does illegal drugs based on their appearance, and gives you “the college try” if he doesn’t know exactly what’s wrong with you. Pretty sure he was googling my symptoms. If this sounds unbelievable, come find me because I would love to share in great detail my experience.

I realize there aren’t many pediatric dermatologists in the area, but dr bakal still gave me his opinion and some great resources. He didnt push anything on us and was very knowledgeable. I’d come back here if need arises in the future. I was grateful they took our appt so quickly when dealing with a toddler.The staff were nice, except one receptionist who seemed quite serious. But the technician who took us in the room provided us with crayons and paper. I know not many children come here. I realize there aren’t many pediatric dermatologists in the area, but dr bakal still gave me his opinion and some great resources. He didnt push anything on us and was very knowledgeable. I’d come back here if need arises in the future. I was grateful they took our appt so quickly when dealing with a toddler.

One of the best dermatologists I’ve been to. I lived in Schaumburg when I found them, I live in Naperville now and still won’t switch. I randomly found them when I did a nearby search when I still lived in Schaumburg and I’m so glad I did. I went in for something I thought was no biggie to find out it was skin cancer. Vanessa is the doctor I see and she is amazing, hands down. She’s always made me feel like we’re friends- asks questions about my job, my boyfriend, his kids etc. Even when she was telling me I had skin cancer, of course I started crying and even her eyes started welling up and she said I was one of the youngest patients she’s ever had with skin cancer and you could just see in her eyes how much she cared. I’m moving even further now but still plan on making the drive to see Vanessa. Definitely recommend.
