Pretty sure Codi went to Hogwarts. Her knowledge and skills are purely magical. This is what I would consider a dive massage place. 10/10 recommend. I have never felt so disassembled and put together at one time but I loved every bit of it.

I think that codi is a great person and that poseidon (her clinical pooch) is a good dude. I think she has a great appreciation and knowledge of the art of massage therapy however my experience was not very good. I have been thinking about what to say for almost 2 weeks because I didn’t want to speak poorly of her or her work because in of itself is not poor. The environment she has curated is great and her energy is very whole, she is knowledgeable and skilled. Back to the basics massage is a great place to go if you’re just looking for a theraputic massage to help you loosen up and stay physically healthy, HOWEVER if you have any significant need for massage there certainly are options better tailored to that need. I do not recommend back to the basics if you have any significant issues that you’re trying to address but I think that if you want somewhere to go regularly for general massage, just to stay loose and aligned; there are few better environments or people than codi.

Someone who actually knows what they are doing. This massage was amazing. I work long days doing alot of lifting and she got everything feeling some much better in just an hour. I will have to reschedule and come in for longer because this is so much better than any other massage.

So grateful to find Codi, at Back to the Basics Massage. Experienced a wonderful, relaxing, Swedish massage for 1.5 hours. It was awesome… after over a year and a half due to Covid-19 pandemic. Codi is wise beyond her years, very knowledgeable about pain management, and truly wants you to feel better. Her shop dog “Poseiden” is sweet as can be and loves to relax, while you relax . Codi offers many techniques and styles and is flexible in customizing within your time frame. I definitely will be returning and was pleasantly surprised to find she offered me a new client discount! The massage room is comfortable, clean, decorative and serene. It was great meeting her and supporting local business in Albany. Very Happy Customer!

Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityWith everything going on in the world right now, and being a healthcare worker on top of that, for months now it’s felt like my body was one giant stress knot. I decided to be an adult and book a massage, and I’m so happy I did. My body feels 50 pounds lighter, I almost feel high, that’s how relaxed I am right now. Codi is a fantastic massage therapist, she is very very skilled, but also really personable and interesting, she has a really calming presence. I will definitely be going back soon. 10/10 would recommend Codi Laffey and Back to Basics Massage to ANYONE who feels ridiculously stressed out and in need of some pain and stress management. Codi at Back to the Basics is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere in her office is beyond relaxing and she really works some magic! I recommend her to everyone I know and I recommend her to anyone looking for a massage therapist. She really listens when I’m telling her the pain I’m having and she knows exactly what to do to relieve it. She also gives the best at home tips I can do to keep the pain at bay. She is awesome and I highly recommend her!

I can now walk better thanks to Codi’s expertise in massage therapy. I didn’t think it was possible to have this much mobility twenty years after a car accident. She gave me tips and tricks that I will use for the rest of my life. By the third visit my toes were no longer locking up and the pain in my knees was completely gone. I would highly recommend the 2-hour therapeutic massage with Codi at Back to Basics Massage!

Codi is the best! She helps make the whole experience relaxing and she accommodates my crazy schedule. The first massage I had was from Codi when I had a slipped disc. Her knowledge of the body and different natural pain remedies was a blessing! When she left I was able to walk with 75% less discomfort and by the next morning I was good to go!

I showed up for my appointment this morning and nobody was at the massage studio. It was just closed lights off. Further the phone number for this place was off when called. I’ll be getting my money back.
