Really didn’t want it to have to come to leaving such a poor review, but going to this salon was the worst decision I’ve ever made regarding my hair. I won’t name the hair stylist for personal reasons and because she doesn’t deserve to have her reputation ruined, but the salon definitely does. My appointment was at 2pm, and I was there past 8pm. For six hours, I felt like the salon’s guinea pig. I went in for a subtle balayage, and ended up with my perfectly healthy hair being bleached, glazed, and blown dry THREE times during the 6 hours I was there. The first time, the result was nothing close to what I wanted, so the stylist tried it again. I told her I had a sensitive scalp to begin with and to be careful with the bleach, and she still let it sit for well over 30 minutes. It was on so long that my scalp started to burn. Then, she had her “apprentice” wash and glaze it, who apparently ended up using the wrong kind, leaving me AGAIN with the wrong color. Her apprentice then also blow-dried my hair. I told her multiple times while she did so that she was burning my scalp, and she would turn the heat down for a few seconds before turning it back up to scorching hot again. The resulting hair color was STILL not what I told her I wanted, so she tried a third time. This time, the stylist washed and glazed it herself, and the end result was worse than it was the first time. During the entire process, she had three or four employees of the salon running around, trying to help her figure out how to get the color right. I could tell she was stressed about figuring it out, which made me super stressed, uncomfortable and not very trusting of her abilities. While the glaze was sitting on my hair for the third time, one of the staff offered a free damage treatment, which I would have thought was great of them, had the damage not been caused by their staff. I left with a burned scalp, damaged hair (which still isn’t the same to this day), and $150 less in my pocket. When I called the next day to talk to the owner about it and ask for a refund, she said she needed to speak with her lawyer before offering me a refund. That was January 26th, and I still have not heard back. When I call, they tell me she isn’t there, and when I leave a message for her, she doesn’t call me back. She told me I’d be receiving a certified letter with their “decision” about my refund, and that was three months ago. If she hadn’t been so difficult and offered me a refund, I would have gladly given the salon a second chance. A ridiculous situation, an unprofessional place with unprofessional staff and an unprofessional and cowardly owner. I know accidents and bad things happen, but the way this was handled wasn’t right.
