Jackie and her team did makeup for me and my bridal party. Jackie was amazing to work with and all of the makeup artists were such a nice presence on my wedding day! Majority of my wedding party doesn’t wear a lot of makeup and they did such a great job giving everyone a natural look. Everyone loved their makeup, and a lot of people gave compliments throughout the day & asked who the makeup artists were. I’d highly recommend Jackie to any bride looking for a makeup artist for their wedding. Thank you Jackie & team for sharing your talents with us and making us all look and feel so beautiful!

I had Jackie for makeup and Shannon for hair on COVID-19 style wedding day (at my mother’s home, in the backyard, family only) and they were nothing but amazing! I had been corresponding with Jackie since summer of 2019; I had a trial with both her and Shannon and booked them immediately. Jackie is very knowledgeable with makeup and does a spectacular job – I felt more beautiful than I have ever been. Not only is she great at what she does, she is so friendly and professional, and very responsive via email, which was very important as many things had changed since the beginning of COVID-19 until my wedding on 6/27. I had to email her many times and she was nothing but understanding and reassuring throughout it all. When she and Shannon arrived on my wedding day, they were set up in no time and executed everyone’s hair and makeup perfectly and on schedule! They are personable and fun to chat with while getting ready, and always listen to what you have to say about the look you’re going for. I bought my own hair extensions, but did not have them for my trial, so Shannon used them on the day of without having seen them – they blended in perfectly and she did a great job at styling them. I would highly recommend Jackie and the team at Axle Color Studio, you will not be disappointed!

A friend and I came to Axel as part of a Boudoir/Beauty Photo package with Daniel Doke Photography and it was such a pleasure getting our hair & makeup done & then having professional boudoir photos taken. I highly recommend both Daniel Doke Photography & the Axel Color Studio both located in North Reading. The amazing ladies at Axel completed our transformations to pinup girls and checked in to make sure our looks were going in the direction we wanted & we couldn’t have asked for a better experience overall. We got a glimpse of a few of our photos before we left and we were like “who are those chicks?!” but in the best way possible. We can’t wait to see the final products. I highly recommend if you’re looking to get beautiful photos taken and/or just need a confidence boost.

I had a long time stylist but she moved and stopped with continuing education. Nicole is my new stylist. She listens to what you want and delivers. My hair is over 80% gray and the color is rich, even and lasts a long time. Everyone is super friendly and the facility is super clean. I also learned that the stylists have continuing education and they hold classes for them at the studio.

I have followed Megan Vitale thru 3 salons over the years – I may not have always loved the salon, but I loved Megan and what she did with my hair. Her last move, to join the efforts of starting a salon from the ground up, means I love Megan AND the salon!! The salon is modern and chic, while the people are warm and welcoming. Last year, I had a weird experience with color (we think it was medications I was taking that altered how it reacted with my hair at the time) – I went back in and was tended to until it was perfect. At no time did I feel rushed or pressured to accept a mediocre result. I can’t say enough good things about Axle Color Studio – if you’re looking for a new salon, try them out. It’s an experience you’d expect from a city salon, with all the benefits of NOT having to drive to the city!
