My experience was that you get what you pay for. The prices are very affordable, but the quality of the cut was poor. My barber was out of town, so I picked Avenue, and it was within a stone’s throw from my home. Never again. Told my barber to never leave town without notifying me.

We live in the neighborhood and stopped by to get a haircut for my son on a weekday afternoon. She didn’t ask me once for the feedback, and she finished my son’s hair in 10 min, obviously a bad cut. I asked her if she can trim the side burn that was too long and she said since we didn’t have an appointment she had to go to the next customer quickly. It would have taken her two min to fix that. I’ll NEVER go back.

Made an appointment on Friday, came in for the appointment on Saturday morning, but the person who was supposed to cut my hair was not there. Others working there said it would be a few minutes till a barber would be available. There were 3 employees standing around talking to each other. Fifteen minutes later, I walked out.

My wife and I had an excellent experience with Gaby. My wife is Asian, and it’s difficult to find someone who can cut her hair well, but she was very pleased with Gaby’s cut. My hair is more straightforward. I simply showed Gaby a photo, and she did a terrific job. She paid extra attention to the thinning I requested, and she added her own touch to ensure my cut looked great, and that I would be happy. The price of cuts were very reasonable, and there is plenty of street parking available. If you drive a block in either direction of Chicago, it’s free. I highly recommend Gaby and we were lucky to find her working on the day we make an appointment. Make sure you ask for her appointment schedule when booking. I hope you enjoy your cut as much as we did!!

I’ve tried multiple barbershops, and I’ve been largely disappointed by their results. Not the case at Avenue Hair. They’re all great at what they do, the environment is healthy, family friendly, and they don’t waste time like so many other places.

I have had good experiences previously, but the haircut I received today (now about a year ago) was poor. I had to go home and try to re-cut my hair to minimize the defect made during the cut. Maybe it was an off day, but it felt rushed and overall left me feeling very dissatisfied. I did make the mistake of not checking the hair at the location, albeit she did not offer the mirror, and now I know why.
