I came in to have a trim. My hair us fairly easy to cut. I was told it would be 20.00 and an additional 5.00 for a wash. I thought it was a fair price for doing just a trim. The hair dresser gave me a wash, but had long fake nails and kept hurting my scalp. After the wash, she told me to go sit at the chair and kept forcefully placing my head in positions as she cut my hair and with the comb would roughly press into my scalp, where it was giving me a headache. Then she blowdryed my hair, she placed the blow dryer too close to my scalp and was burning my scalp. She did not complete the blow drying and left my hair half wet. I would not recommend and do not plan to ever go back.

Came here to get a balayage/ombré back in August. I showed the stylist, who claimed to be the owner, a few reference pictures before proceeding to make sure that she was familiar with the technique and she said, “ Yes, don’t worry. I can do it for you.” I came out of here with a brassy and dry hair disaster. It looked like I had highlights in the front and a huge dark spot in the back. I ended up having to go to a different salon that took care of me and was able to fix the mess that the other stylist created. I WOUND NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONES HAIR NEEDS!

I love going to Avanti Hair Salon in El Cajon, I dont go anywhere else. I take my daughter there as well and they treat her very well. They do a great job and they always cut the lenght you ask not like they want like other places. I give them a 5 stars.
