If you are wondering where to go for a haircut and dye job look no further! I will be returning every 6 months for sure! My experience with Kim and her lovely assistant goes way beyond 5 stars! Ally, my stylist, was patient, professional, efficient, and kind. As someone who has been very cautious throughout Covid, I absolutely felt safe. Everyone was wearing masks (properly), sanitizing was done consistently and thoroughly, and it was clear that Covid was taken seriously. My hair looks fantastic and I feel a lot more confident. This was my first time getting a hair cut at Avanti, and I will absolutely be returning. Ally, my stylist, was patient, professional, efficient, and kind. As someone who has been very cautious throughout Covid, I absolutely felt safe. Everyone was wearing masks (properly), sanitizing was done consistently and thoroughly, and it was clear that Covid was taken seriously. My hair looks fantastic and I feel a lot more confident. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI had a haircut here on November 11th and that was the first and last time I will walk into this salon. While standing at the front waiting to be checked in I could see all of the stylists standing off to the left in a small room talking to each other and showing each others phones and just hanging out. Once a girl noticed me she couldn’t have looked more unhappy that I interrupted their chat. She pointed me in the direction of the chair and told me to take a seat and she would let my hair dresser know I was here. The girl had super messy pink and black hair, baggy sweater, wearing cat rings. While she was washing my hair her rings were just ripping my hair out. The shampoo they used did not have a smell. At my normal salon, the shampoo they use smells amazing, this was not the case here. I was not picky about what I wanted for a hair cut. I told her a trim, take off the bottom layer, could cut up to 2 inches over all if she needed. I felt like I was pretty laid back about the whole thing. While cutting my hair she told me about her life. How she has three jobs, a cat, eats pizza all the time, how it’s selfish for people to be having babies during a pandemic and so on. She missed the whole front section of my head by my bangs, did not touch them once. When she finished cutting my hair she asked me if I wanted it flat ironed. I told her no because it was 5:30pm and I was just going home after. She told me that she “needed” to flat iron my hair so she could see if she made any mistakes…. so I said fine. It took her FORTY-FIVE minutes to straighten my hair. This takes me MAX 20 mins at home. She was straightening maybe 6 strands of hair at a time, pulling my hair. She kept telling me “she’s a perfectionist”. (My hair wasn’t even straight when I left) when she gets to the top of my head and notices my grown out bangs (that she never trimmed) she said “oh I didn’t even notice these! Would you like me to trim off the split ends?!” …. $62 and over an hour later I was basically sprinting out of there. My hair dresser was on maternity leave so I just went somewhere that had an opening. NEVER AGAIN. Save your money. Go ANYWHERE ELSE. I wouldn’t even go back to see another person because the hairdresser next to me was arguing with her client.
