Everyone is very nice at this salon. That is the positive. I would not recommend this salon though unless you are comfortable paying for an uneven haircut or incorrect color you cannot get rid of. I went in for a straight cut trim and warm brown root touchup of color, I ended up with bright copper roots and a haircut off by an inch in areas. I was told the copper would fade, but faded copper is still copper, not brown. I went back twice to correct the cut and was told the incorrect length was my fault for slightly adjusting my hair part. I have never had this issue before with any other stylist. I ended up correcting it the best I could with scissors at home.

I have really hard hair to cut. The usual haircut result is a variety of spiky cowlicks plus bangs hanging in my face. Ellie at Au Courant has got the wild hair tamed. And Barbie, who is the owner, runs a tight ship: appointments are on time, the place is spotless, etc. I was also impressed that she took such good care of her employees during the pandemic, when most other places just fired their stylists.

Hands-down the best salon in the (206). Every stylist is kind and friendly and there is a specialist for whatever you are looking for. I always enjoy heading over to the Den for a haircut drinking a complimentary Corona watching some sports, and Fatima has never failed to give me a great cut.

I’m a first time customer, they put me on with Ellie and I loved her! I have this so called”impossible”hair but she was so meticulous and spends time working through my natural curls so marvellously. The place is very clean and civilized. I’ll stick with Au Courant and Ellie.
