I’ve been seeing Atsuko at two locations, so that adds up to a number of years. She both colors my hair and cuts it. I like that she has creative ideas and also is very attentive to the type of hair I have and what styles look good with the shape of my face. And what’s really important is that she also listens when I need adjustment to a cut. I’m very active and need a cut that is easy to maintain. She did my hair earlier this week. It looks great. My husband thought so, too! I also get compliments from friends.

I received balayage and a haircut with Atsuko six months ago. I had been highlighting and dying my hair with several different hairstylists around the East Bay over the past 10 years but wasn’t always satisfied with the results (highlights were brassy, uneven, or low-quality product caused much damage). I have been happiest with the results after Atsuko’s treatments for three reasons: Atsuko consults closely with you prior to the treatment so she knows exactly what you’re looking for, uses high-quality products, and makes the overall experience pleasant and relaxing. I left her salon feeling very cared for 🙂 For best results, I recommend bringing a photo of your desired hairstyle. Thank you, Atsuko!

Ten years but who’s counting – Atsuko has been coloring and cutting my hair. Not a hiccup once. Color is tweaked each time to account for sun fading or seasonal light and always looks ‘right.’ She chooses the hair style with input from me and really thinks hard about it before either a new style or adjusting the present one. Atsuko accommodates my peculiarities about hair without even blinking yet will tell me straight out if what I want or think simply will not work and why.

Atsuko Tomobe has a good sense of style and a good sense what to do with different types of hair. My hair is naturally curly and fine and she cuts it perfectly. My friend is Asian, has completely different hair from me, and Atsuko does a perfect job for her too. My niece has a third type of hair, heavy with a bit of natural wave, and she comes up from LA to have her hair cut by Atsuko. On top of it all, Atsuko is pleasant, straightforward, and interesting. You can not do better.
