Love Ryan and the way he worked with me on my hair. I am incredibly ill with a lifetime disease and am disabled. I have made this very clear to them. There are times when I need to cancel at the last minute simply because I am unable to get out of bed—it’s very upsetting to me but their attitude and policy is what really upsets me. I know it’s a loss of business for one appt if I don’t show or cancel at the last minute but I generally tip between 25 and 40% to try and make up for the times I can’t come and because Ryan is good. I think the most insulting thing I have ever been told by a place of business by the owner, no less, is I have a friend with Lupus and she always makes her appointments. First of all, I have never discussed my illness with you and we are talking apples and oranges. I am glad your friend is healthier than me but don’t compare when you don’t know what lifetime illness I suffer from. What Atmosphere does know is I have had 3 major back surgeries in one year and came to my appointment in a cast once. If I came like that, how bad must I feel to not be able to come on a “regular” day. Ryan is really good and I do recommend him but not this uncaring salon who treats people with disabilities differently than the rest of their clients and want me to prepay so that if I am unable to come in for health reasons, I not only feel terrible because of health but my pocketbook takes a hit as well. And, if she said we would have to charge you for missed appt so we don’t lose money, I would have gladly paid half. That is not what this salon offered. They wanted me to prepay my entire appointment. I thought this was the point of a wait list. If you can’t fill the slot, call me back and then I would have paid but they were not willing to do that. So if you go here, you had better hope you don’t have a sick kid, Covid, or anything else that keeps you from going in day of or you won’t be going at all. Anyone know of a nice and caring salon for those of us whom life has already thrown a curve ball and, while we will never play ball again, we would at least not have to sit in the stands on the days we feel good enough to get out without having to wear a ball cap to cover the grey hair? They must be compassionate and be able to cut/color hair.
