Donna went above and beyond with her front desk service. She was polite and kind. Also, Monica styled and cut my hair just how I wanted. She was professional and kind. She made sure I was okay with the length before she carried on. Donna and Monica were accommodate with my schedule and desire. In addition, the place was very clean.Thank you Donna and Monica for your service. I usually don’t leave reviews; however, this salon deserves a written review. The customer service was outstanding. Donna went above and beyond with her front desk service. She was polite and kind. Also, Monica styled and cut my hair just how I wanted. She was professional and kind. She made sure I was okay with the length before she carried on. Donna and Monica were accommodate with my schedule and desire. In addition, the place was very clean.

I trust her advice completely even when I am not sure what I should do with my hair. And I appreciate that about her very much. That’s why I will keep going back. Critical: CleanlinessI feel obligated to write a review. I do not understand how every review Astutia has is a 5 star review after what I’ve experienced. I originally contacted Astutia because of the great reviews I found here. However, I am very disappointed with the service that I’ve received.I’ve had 2 appointments @ Astutia (it was supposed to be only 1 appointment, but Janice did not schedule me correctly so I couldn’t get my coloring done same day as my haircut).I was put in contact with my new hair stylist Janice and I sent her pictures of the haircut and color which I was trying to obtain. She explained to me via text that she would put in baby lights and we would work our way to the look that I wanted.I had my first appointment with her last week, at this appointment she remembered/realized that I was there for a haircut + COLOR. So I was given two options: 1.) I could get my hair cut today and schedule my color for the following week or 2.) reschedule cut & color for the following week… I was already there so I went with option 1. I paid $80 for my hair cut and an additional $106 for two hair products. During my first appointment, my hair was NOT washed OR styled. Janice, I felt like you were rushed and far too rough with my hair. I am not sensitive when it comes to pulling on my hair, but you were ripping at my long hair and causing a lot of damage. I also wish you had at least taken some time to style it a bit and maybe even put a tiny bit of product into my hair. It felt like I just got a haircut at Great Clips and not at a high end hair salon.Today, I came back to Astutia for my coloring appointment with Janice. I am once again disappointed with the service that I received. I talked to Janice before she started and showed her pictures of how and where I wanted the color to be ( I was not there for a full color and only wanted my ends lightened). You once again seemed rushed and you were incredibly rough… you ripped out a lot of my hair :(After Janice washed out the coloring and blow dried my hair.. we realized that the front sides were colored from the scalp all the way to my ends. I told Janice that wasn’t right and she wasn’t very happy about me asking her if we could fix the sides. Again, it was a time issue and she asked me if I could just come back next week.. which really threw me off and she finally offered to just put a little color on the hair near the scalp and just rinse those small areas because she didn’t have time to wash my entire head again. During this appointment I received a color & wash + blow dry. My hair once again was NOT styled and I DID NOT get any product in my hair.I left Astutia looking like I just showered and blow dried my hair.. it was A FRIZZY MESS. I came home and styled my own hair after an appointment with my hair dresser :/I’m also feeling pretty swindled right now. I paid $80 during my hair cutting appointment + spent $106 on 2 hair products. Janice was trying to charge me $125 for the coloring appointment. She said they usually charge $145-$150 FOR A [HAIR CUT + COLOR] (but only if its done in one appointment)… Either way, I paid more than what I should have.This is the first time I’ve ever gone to a high end salon where I felt haggled and didn’t get my hair styled or had any product added into my hair.
