I booked with the Rei Chiba, the worst stylist I’ve ever seen. Please don’t have any appointment with her if you’re going to cut women short hair. She feels like still in training (or an intern level), and absolutely has no idea on what she was doing and cut my hair wayyyyyy to short than what I asked for. After I washed my hair at home, I realized how terrible she did on my top hair. (It is a joke that a stylist could have make such mistake on short hair). Now I can’t even go out without an hat until it grows back to normal. Very disappointed experience to cut my short hair here.

I’ve went here another time in the past but this time just blew my mind away! I never thought I would find a good haircut for my thick and poofy hair but Wataru did a great job taking the weight off my hair and just making it feel lightweight while adding layers! He was super friendly and his English was very good, he made sure I knew what he was doing to my hair and explained it properly. Once I was out of the salon, I think I told my parents over 18 times that night that I loved my haircut. This was the best haircut I’ve gotten!

Nice staff and nice service. But for the hair cut, I’m super disappointed. I told the stylist multiple times about my needs, the length I wanted, even showed the pictures but apparently he did the opposite thing. They seemed to listen but not really. Now I can’t go out because I’m too shamed of my hair and because it’s too short I can’t even find another place to fix it.

Kaz used to be good but now he seemed very rushed. If you don’t mind your hair getting dragged and feeling the impatience ever since you enter the salon then go for it. This is how they treat a regular. Once they earn some good review and generous tip they start to take it for granted and sacrifice customer’s experience to maximize their profit per minute. It’s a shame to see they downgrade their service slowly but steadily. Trust is hard to earn but easy to loose.

Wataru did a great job for my hair. He is very patient and gives me several useful tips for my hairstyle. Also the head massage during the shampooing is pretty good.

I have to call out Kaz for doing a great job for my hair. My hair came out well and he was attention to detail, and always made sure everything was okay. I would highly recommend this salon. This is the second time that I have came here for my haircuts.

Went to this Salon several times now. My stylist this time is Kaz. I have a very thin/flat hair, and he did an excellent job to make it looks more volumned. Also got a very nice head massage there! He recommends digital perm to me. Will try it next time.

Updated: I have gone back to Kaz 3 times in total. 1st time it was not great but then he offered to fix it for free. Since then I went back again. He is really polite, kind and fast. I will definitely continue with Kaz as my stylist!

I’ve been going to Arukas Hair Salon for the past year, each time with a different stylist, since they seem to rotate in and out on the appointments website – Yugo, Asako, Wataru, and then Kaz – I have to say, they’ve all been very professional, attentive, detail-oriented, and I’ve been happy with the haircuts. I always get similar-ish long layered cuts though and haven’t had other services yet. Booking an appointment is easy. You just make one online, but you have to call to cancel or make changes.
