Lori is amazing in her craft in the salon, friendly and helpful in showing me how to maintain my salon style hair. I’ve also seen her great work with extensions. I can not recommend Rachael at Artisinal hair enough! I am very picky about hair stylists as I have very thick, coarse, curly hair. Because of this I had not had my hair cut in over 18 months! I found Artisinal and Rachael when researching curly stylists in my area. I was able to book an appointment for the next day! Rachael began the appointment with a discussion about my hair goals and lifestyle. I explained that I wanted my hair above my shoulders, and needed a style that was low-maintenance as I’m an athlete. Rachael took time cutting my hair, paying lots of attention to detail and how my curls were responding. She recommended new products to me and showed me how to use them. She answered all my questions regarding washing and styling, and also caring for both my curls and my sensitive scalp at the same time.

Rachael just moved to this salon, and they’re so lucky to have her! She is both a truly gifted hair artist and also a genuinely kind, authentic, and caring human being. I found Rachael almost a decade ago after reading rave reviews of her curly hair cuts, and I’ve followed her through multiple moves to various locations in the Baltimore area. Every cut she’s given me has been even better than I’d hoped for and super easy to style. She truly understands curly hair (and has curly hair herself), and I love that she takes into account the way I care for and style my hair and cuts it to work with my approach. In addition being a super talented stylist, Rachael is also incredibly warm, funny and easy to talk to. Within five minutes of meeting her, I felt like I was chatting with an old friend, and when I got Covid early on in the pandemic, she was one of the first people to call to check on me. If you’re looking for a new hair stylist who just might become a lifelong friend, I highly recommend making an appointment with Rachael. She is truly the best.

As I walked into the salon, I was greeted by several people who were very nice. I had an appointment with Lori to get extensions and my very fine hair I was very satisfied with Lori service and she even was kind enough to do a makeover on me along with my extensions.
