I work minimum wage and can still have sexy nails. Great acrylics and unmatched prices. They don’t prep the nails much and go faster than they should, but in my experience, my full set always looks good with few inconsistencies. Will probably last you 2 weeks. I don’t know why some of these reviews are so bad honestly, I get my nails done there all the time and have had no big issues.

I used to go to Ardor with my teammates mainly because of its good prices (I am an athlete). The issue is that both dip powder and acrylic nails are done extremely fast and with poor preparation of the nail which causes them to barely last two weeks. The last time I went I had to get acrylics removed and they used dirty tools and almost RIPPED them off my nails causing me a lot of pain. They noticed I was clearly suffering and instead of using the right method and being patient, they did everything faster because other people were waiting. They also want you to pay before they finish which is totally unprofessional and the result is not worth the money. I would rather pay an extra $10 and get better looking nails without unnecessary pain.

This is my second time today going to get my nails done here and I really love my nails. I loved it the first time they did it. They take their time and they’re so very nice! I love that it’s a small shop. I highly recommend anyone to check them out! I got a no chip manicure! The first time I did it last me a full two weeks and I could’ve went longer honestly… Thank you again for taking care of me today 🙂

Critical: Professionalism, QualityI have been going to Ardor since 2014. I had written a review back in 2014 raving about the massage I got with their basic pedicure. I always tipped very well! I was so appreciative! The past few times I have gone, no foot massage at all. Yesterday I asked why I don’t get the foot massage anymore. She told me that I have to pay for the Luxury Pedicure to get any sort of massage with a pedicure. I told her the website says “longer” foot massage with the Luxury which leads people to believe the basic pedicure comes with a foot massage and if you want a “longer” foot massage you request the Luxury. I only have this experience with this one woman. The other staff, who have always given a great massage with the basic pedicure, makes you want to tip them really well. Their customer service was excellent! But this lady has been trying to hustle me. Not sure if it’s racial because I am Black or what. I bring this up because I have witnessed others get a basic pedicure and they get a foot massage. So what’s up?! Needless to say…I will be going elsewhere from now on. I have NEVER, in all my years of getting pedicures, had to request and pay more for a simple foot massage with a pedicure. And even with the Luxury…her foot massage was like….pointless. I work too hard and used to look forward to self-care with a pedicure. Looking for other referrals in Evanston who give a foot massage with their pedicures. I just got a simple no chip manicure… to say this is the worst manicure I ever received would be half the story. The salon is dirty, it has weird smells as if someone is or was smoking in the back, I walked out smelling like that, and my jagged nails are all but scratching everything I touch. I hate when a nail tech uses their finger nails to wipe off any polish around the nail and of course they did that… why can we not just use a brush with polish remover?! Yet, the polish still remained under and around the nail. But essentially the actual manicure is so horrible I need to go elsewhere soon to redo this because uneven, jagged and jarring to look at. It’s not like they are cheaper than anywhere else…

Been going consistently for a month or two and I argue it’s the best place in Evanston to get an inexpensive, yet professional and expert manicure. I go every couple of weeks to get my acrylics filled and the color changed, and my technician does a fantastic job. In addition, he always educated me about my nails (e.g. why the shape various per nail, when and why to get a new set of acrylics soon, and how to take care of them). I won’t go anywhere else to get my nails done.

Went in for a mani-pedi the day of the World Cup match of Croatia VS Russia. One of the techs mentioned that she loved soccer, and another patron convinced her to turn on the game. The whole salon was captivated, watching the game together! So fun. Also, the lady who did my pedicure was the most gentle but effective I’ve ever had. I have ingrown toenails, and she took care of those without even making me bleed! Amazing.
