Ellen is the best stylist I have met! She doesn’t just get the job done, she actually listens to you and asks questions and gets things right. I was torn on if I wanted to get some colors in my hair after my cut. Even though she could have just recommended a color dye and that’s a sale right there, she recommended me to wait because the haircut did so much itself. And I’ve been really happy with that decision. She is also very efficient and knows what she is talking about. Yep, Ellen cares.

Sandra has been doing my hair for 23 years and I’m beyond impressed with her!! I trust no one else to touch my hair. I have gone to a couple people just for fast last min thing and they have completely messed it up! I go back to Sandie to fix it and I end up walking out of the salon like a brand new woman!! Never had a customer quite like Sylvia. She really wasn’t the typical client that walks through the door. I did my best to handle her in a professional manner. I believe she was looking for a free service. I have numerous satisfied customers and try and do whatever it takes to make things right. She literally left my chair before I was finished with the service!

I had the WORST salon experience of my life because of Ellen at Appearance salon!!!! It was my first time at Appearance salon and I wasn’t even acknowledged for the first 10 minutes of me being there. I had bought a Groupon so my color and cut had to be done by Ellen. I went in for a corrective color and cut. I had foils done to blend the color I already had. I had dyed my hair blonde and she just seemed very judgmental of my choice and even told me it wasn’t natural. She tried to convince me to go back to dark brown. She was very unfriendly and Ellen seemed more concerned with getting back to her ipad than taking care of her customer. I was scratched repeatedly by her nails and her treatment with my hair during brushing and blow-drying was so ruff that it was painful. I was actually happy with the color and even told her so. I had a very disappointed look on my face due to the poor cut that looked like she cut a blunt straight line through my hair. Ellen seen my look and raised her voice to me yelling that I needed to understand that it was a corrective color and that my hair wasn’t her fault. If she had listened to me she would have known that it was the unflattering cut that was up-setting. I finally had to get up and leave because of her treatment. I don’t know why I thought I would find a good styles on Groupon but this women’s behavior was out of line and totally unacceptable. I don’t know how she could be considered a professional.

I should’ve known when I was in the phone and the guy seemed confused by the service I was asking for. A simple blow out. So many times I wish I could’ve walked out. But I was attached to a brush via my knotted hair. This place is not clean, at my station, the brushes were kept in a Tupperware container and she used multiple. Their shears were just out and not kept in barbicide, honestly I didn’t even see that at any of the stations. The blow out was poor. I asked for a round brush blow out. Usually, for my length one would grab a 300+ round brush I usually use a 450 personally. She grabbed maybe a 1” hard bristled brush and proceeded to fight my hair, she got it tangled in my hair a couple times (as in wrapped from both directions). She changed brushes at least 4 times. She said she wanted to run a large curling iron through it & reached for the 1”. Found that very confusing. I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone under the age of 50… or if you have hair past your ears.
