If you want your hair colored and done right then you need to come here. I have been coming to this salon and having my hair done by Kayla for several years now and she never fails to make my hair look amazing and to make it look just like I want it. And she is always upfront about things if I am asking for something that will take extra time or needs more steps she is upfront and honest and lets me know what to expect which is greatly appreciated! Thank to Kayla for such a great experience with my hair and I highly recommend this salon.

I used to go to haircut 101, but I came back to boone and found out they closed, so I looked up a few places and saw the reviews for Kayla at Appalachian Hair Salon, and she definitely did not disappoint. My hair was very brassy and very much need of a trim. She totally transformed my hair and understood what I wanted my hair to look like! Highly recommend.

Kayla is the BEST. I’m a student at App state and while I was on spring break, I went to a hairdresser at home that I don’t usually go to to lighten my naturally blonde hair a little bit before formal. I showed the girl pictures and she ended up completely bleaching my whole head which looked nothing like the pictures. Devastated, I frantically looked on the internet for someone to do something to my hair in the High Country. I found Appalachian Hair Salon and saw good reviews about Kayla and her color corrections. I requested an appointment via yelp (just call the salon. They said yelp notifications don’t always go through quickly) but she called me about an hour later (on a Sunday). Thank goodness for her. She talked me through was she was going to do, was diligent and it was clear that she knew what she was doing. Six and a half hours and 108 foils later, my hair looks natural blonde again! Kayla was very inexpensive, especially for the time she put in, friendly, and obviously enjoys her job. The salon has a fun atmosphere and I am very grateful to have found this Boone gem!

I go to Kim, my daughter goes to Kayla, and my 4 grandsons (ages 2-8) have had haircuts by both. Kim and Kayla are amazing at their jobs as well as being amazing people! They are fun, efficient, and talented. They are great with the boys as well, and will make it as easy as possible. My daughter has Chiari malformation (her neck is sensitive and over-manipulating or too much pressure can trigger numerous symptoms including migraines. Kayla makes sure to limit her time in the sink, and always makes sure she’s comfortable and steady. She can finally enjoy having her hair done again! We love the ladies at Appalachian Hair!
