Thankful for many things this year, but I want to express my sincere gratitude and love for my hair stylist Anne at APL Studio. Growing up, I worked at a lot of different salons and spas and I never really had a “go-to” *hair* person. I always wanted to try out a new stylist and would bounce around a lot, which I know is breaking a cardinal rule in the hair world. It was not until I moved to Richmond and had Anne work her magic on my hair that I knew I had found a forever home for my haircare. She is an AMAZING listener and always knows how to execute my vision. Getting my hair done is a treat because time always flies when I’m with Anne because it’s like going over to your best friend’s house and catching up. She always has the best music playing or a fun show in the background to watch. On top of it all, she always has the best snack selection and offers you a seasonal, Pinterest worthy-looking drink for you to sip on while you get your hair done. Also, hands down the best scalp massage I’ve ever had while getting shampooed. She’s also surprised me with holiday goodies at my front door and I just have never had someone who goes above and beyond for her clients like Anne does. Truly grateful for Anne and can’t wait until my next appointment with her!

Anne is truly the best. I love the studio experience with her – it always feels luxurious and approachable at the same time. As someone with short hair, finding the right stylist has always felt risky. After almost a decade with Anne, I would trust her with any hairstyle and could not recommend her enough. She knows my hair type and preferences so well and is an incredible consultant. If you’re looking for a stylist, Anne is an absolute professional. 5 stars is not enough! ☺️

I have been seeing Anne for all of my hair cuts & colors since moving to Richmond in 2015. She has the ability to read my mind and know exactly what I want and skill to execute it all. I have never been dissatisfied with any service! Her space is easily accessible and always stocked with the best snacks, drinks, and music/TV shows (we share a love for reality shows and teen vampire romance). With her triple threat of cut/color skill, super reasonable pricing, and warm personality, Anne is someone you will want to stick with for the long run. Anne is amazing! She is such a kind and caring person and a joy to spend 3 hours with during a service. I seriously look forward to every service with her. I typically get a balayage and a cut every 12-14 weeks. My color always looks nice and grows out well between appointments. Sometimes I tell her what I want and she does it flawlessly. Other times, I literally just tell her to do what she thinks is best, and it also comes out great. If you’re looking for a reasonable stylist and someone who is at talented at what she does, come here! You won’t be disappointed!

Visits to APL studios are my favorite self care days and nothing short of amazing!! Not only is Anne a lifelong friend but the best hairdresser/colorist I have ever had ( I wish I had started going to her sooner). She is always up to date on new and trending all things hair, but she always gives her honest opinion on my (sometimes crazy)ideas. The color is ALWAYS amazing whether we are lightening it up or going a little darker.
