Her salon is always clean, well lite and comfortable. I’ve been going to Antigona for years, and I cannot imagine going to anyone else – ever! Critical: QualityAntigona, is a pleasant lady, but when it comes to hair color, or informing client what she is doing, and following what a specifically wants or does not want. Having moved here recently from NYC, I was not familiar with hair salons here in CT. When I met Antigona, I specifically said to stay away from reddish , or cooper shades when applying color to my hair. Well, she either has hearing problems, or simply does not know how to mix colors. When I got home, I noticed I had copper shades, I thought maybe as I wash it it will go away, I mean what do I know about the chemistry of mixing colors. Well, it didn’t it got a lot brassier. I recently went to see her and asked her to take the copper color out. I wanted more on a very light brown…not ashy, not copper. Instead of Antigona consulting with me the color scheme and what to expect, she went off to mix color and apply it to my hair. Never told when she applied the toner. I mean she didn’t sound a peep. She went on to dry my hair, when my hair is completely dried, I noticed my hair was wicked dark, the blonde highlights that I paid so much for, were mostly gone. Again, I figured the lighting at her salon is poor, so I’ll have a look when I get home. Sure enough it was dark, and highlights mostly gone. My friends whom I had dinner that night, were all disappointed my hair was darker and highlights gone. I texted Antigona, and all she said: “Wow” Clearly she didn’t like what I said, and after I said I wanted my money back, she refunded my last visit. But that doesn’t change that she ruined the color and now I have to start again. Possibly drive to NYC just to get my hair done, since it seems I can’t anymore competent near were I live in CT. Never going back to Antigona.
