Critical: ProfessionalismI have come here many times, and the massages have always been decent.On the last visit however, the session ended ten minutes early. Thereafter when checking out the therapist told me I didn’t offer a big enough tip (around 23%).. she wanted more money. I refused and stood by my offer, and when she charged my card she doubled my tip amount (46%) without my consent. They literally steal money from you here. Don’t hand them your card and better yet don’t come in at all. This was a surprise to me because this has always been my go-to and my go-to therapist and it’s been great- until now. I called a day ahead for a 90 minute, but when I got there for my scheduled appointment, I was told that I could only do 60 minute due to another client scheduled, so I would need to return in 2 hours. Also, when I walked in, I wasn’t greeted, but merely stared at. There was no relaxing ambience either. There was no asking of my name either, which was very depersonalizing. As I was walking out due the very strange experience, I was told I could actually do the 90 minutes. I chose to still leave since the whole situation became uncomfortable.

They made me pay up front for my 60 min massage ($60), I left a $12 tip on the bed and got stopped before leaving and was asked to pay a tip, and was told to show them the tip i left in the room. Pretty ghetto and not that great of a massage-they never touched my feet. The people at the eureka mall do a better job.

Wonderful and welcoming atmosphere. I go regularly for massages. Staff are always receptive to working on trouble spots and sore muscles. Prices are competitive and fair. Owner and staff are kind and respectful. I highly recommend Angel Hands Massage.

I called this place up to see about getting a message for some shoulder pain I had been experiencing. The lady that answered the phone was almost unintelligible. I asked what the cost was to get a message. After a few back and forth mistranslations I figured out that it was going to be 60 for 1 hour… I think. As sore as I was at the time I decided against going here even though it is within walking distance of my house. If you don’t mind some difficult communication than it’s probably fine. There are only so many places in town to go so good luck. I am sure that they are fine but I was just being picky and wanted a different experience than what I got over the phone. Left on my vacation sore but glad that I still had my kidneys. Go to the hot tubs in Arcata if you need a cheap way to relax and recuperate. It’s cheap in comparison and you don’t have to interact with too many people during your visit.
