Historically I’ve been very happy with Ana’s service. In the past she’s kind, upfront, accommodating, and detail oriented. I understand the pandemic has hit the personal service industry very hard. Unfortunately, I don’t think this business has been able to keep up. I made an appointment for my birthday to have a powder dip manicure and regular pedicure. I was on time, actually about 5 mins early for my appointment, I waited nearly 30 mins to be seen because the previous appointment had arrived late and wasn’t finished with her service and wanted to add on a child’s mani/pedi while she was there because child care fell through. I was finally seen and Ana was clearly in a rush to keep her schedule so she didn’t continue to fall behind. As a result the product of my usually very elegant manicure turned out to look like chicklets on my nails. When it came time for the pedicure I just asked for white polish -upon check out I was up charged $3 for “premium polish” a product I’ve never used before. This is a small shop and pre-COVID I visited every other week like clockwork. This left a bad taste in my mouth but I chocked it up to a sales person up selling when given the opportunity. When I got home later that night the “premium polish” had completely smeared and pressed up against my cuticles. I showed Ana the next day and to her credit and a nod to her professionalism she made it right but, this time I brought my own polish to avoid any “hidden fees.” Determined to not give up on my favorite nail technician in New Castle I called for a same-day appointment today. I said, I need to soak off my old dip, but I want a regular manicure and pedicure. I was told she had time if I could head there “now.” So I freshened up and headed over. Mid-pedicure and mid-manicure soak I was told she wouldn’t be able to do a fresh manicure -she had another client coming in. (Even thought I had waited 30 mins two weeks ago -I figured its not kind to pass on that inconvenience to someone else and complied.) At the end of the transaction another up charge of $3 for soaking off the powder, even though that’s a fee usually included in getting powder manicure. Unfortunately, I will not be returning with the lack of transparency around fees and inability to maintain appointments. Had I just been told that a same-day appointment couldn’t have been accommodated, I would have understood and made an appointment for a day that worked better.

Positive: QualityGreat Nail Salon to use during these Covid19 times. The owner takes clients one-on-one. No one else is in the shop. All regulations have been followed with sanitizers and plexi-glass dividers. The shop is immaculate and Ana is pleasant and does a great job!

Just got a great pedicure at Ana’s, with hot stones, salt scrub, foot massage AND a back and neck massage while my pedicure was drying in the air machine—all for $25! I was a walk-in and immediately accommodated. Recommend!
