I have been taking my 2 daughters to Amina’s for braiding every 1-2 months or so for the last 5+ years. Ms Amina and her team have always been very kind, professional and braided my girls very well. My daughters participate in competitive swimming and therefore need consistent hair care, and Ms Amina has been a gem for us especially knowing it is hard to find a good braiding place in the northern suburbs close to home.

I went to get knotless braids here 2x. They were on time, fast and I loved my braids on both occasions. They were fairly cheap considering I travel and visit alot of braiding shops. I would recommend them your looking for a good reliable braider.

I have been to Amina’s salon for braids a few times and each time I have left very satisfied with my braids. Wether it’s Amina herself of one of her staff they make sure your satisfied with your service before you leave the shop. Amina is the absolute best. Very awesome in her gift of braiding. She is also such a sweet and honest person.

I called to make an appointment and was told the cheapest price for box braids is $160 and I asked what length it had to be and was told to buy 18” hair in order for it to be $160. I arrived to the braiding shop and I was tended to, but I noticed the hair Braider adding hair to make the length longer (I had no problem with that) she did majority of my head and later another hair Braider came to help her with the remainder of my hair (she probably braided like 5 braids) however, the lady who came to help the lady who was initially braiding my hair told me “next time don’t buy 18” hair it makes it more work” I was instantly bothered so I responded and said that I was told on the phone to get 18” hair so… and then she said “42” hair you should get instead” and I asked her would it still be $160??? And she said yes, but I honestly didn’t believe that. I just don’t understand why she made it my problem as if they weren’t the ones who told me on the phone to buy 18” hair?? Like maybe you should change the length if you cannot handle braiding shorter hair… I don’t think that concern should’ve been on me because again I was going off of what I was told. It should be on the staff and it should be discussed on lengths they can and can’t handle braiding. The ladies were friendly, I just didn’t appreciate feeling at fault for something I was told to buy. Overall, I won’t be a repeating customer.

Creative Genius
I am not satisfied with these braids. Was told one price over the phone then another price when she finished my hair. At which point it was late. I could not fix it the next day because I was going out of town over the weekend. When I came back to GA she called me at 310 Monday to see if I could make it at 4. I explained to her that I was in Dallas and would not make it in time. No further consideration. I feel so pressured to like something I ultimately feel was rushed. Regardless if I was given a mirror to see my concerns were simply overlooked.

I hesitated writing this review because my braids today come out nicely. My issue is with the customer service. When I initially got there on time they had me wait for over an hour before they we’re busy with a couple other clients. The woman that ended up styling my hair did not even introduce herself. Because of my wait and the inconsistency of working on my hair, I spent the whole day at the shop waiting for my hair to get finished. I came there sharply at noon and ended up leaving around five, when I was told this style only takes three hours. When I asked them about when they would be finished they gave me attitude and said that I must not know how long braiding takes. When I talked to them on the phone and saw them in person I showed them a picture of the style I wanted which is jumbo passion twist. In the middle of doing my hair they told me I did not bring enough material. She ended up changing the amount of hair she told me to bring. And then she talked about possibly raising the price and that it was my misunderstanding. The way the women spoke to me was in a tone as if I did not know what I was talking about. I have braided hair before and also made it clear the service I wanted to get. When I was all finish and looked in the mirror I was satisfied with the work yet I noticed that the twists were significantly smaller than I had requested and shown them in the picture. If they had done my hair the way I requested it there would be no more need for any extra hair. Overall I am giving the shop with three stars because I do see that they work hard and I do feel that they are good people, but they are unprofessional in the way that they dealt with me in the situation. I am not sure if I will be coming back to the shop because of the tone in which they spoke to me.
