I booked an appointment three weeks ago and yesterday someone called and told me the stylist I booked with was no longer there and she had to cancel my appointment. I’m going out of town and now I have to try to find another stylist. Then to add insult to injury this lady tells me oh well things happen! Yes things do happen but I feel they should have honored my appointment because it was a mistake on their end. When in business please update your website and accommodate when your in the wrong!!!

The shop and the people who work there are professional, courteous and very skilled. I travel over 30 minutes to get to the shop. The travel is definitely worth it and I HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone who is interested in getting there hair done. I was taking medicine that was making my hair fall out. After being treated with Amavi Salon organic products loosing hair is no longer my story. Thank you Amavi Salon!

I came in with black and blue hair with a lot of it faded out and having a weird blonde showing through instead. She spent 8 hours to be as thorough as possible and it came out different from the picture I showed but it’s still pretty. They were very polite and hospitable. Critical: Punctuality, Quality, ValueWanted this to be my salon…. but after given a second shot, I have come to the conclusion that Ngozi is not a master stylist.Iam new to NJ and wear units. My first visit came to $145 plus $20 dollar tip.The unit was never thinned out in the front to give the illusion of a natural hairline, in fact I returned home with a first degree hot curler burn from stylist. She use the hot wand to lay flat the front of unit instead of blow dryer, which resulted in my forehead being burned.She did not cut unit evenly or straight during my first visit.I decided to give Amavi one more try-I had an appt. for 1pm initially. I phoned to ask for later around 2. She responded back with 3pm.I arrived early and waited several hour while she was coloring the unit, which did not lift. Again, again cut is off. It is again uneven.This coupled with products visible that I myself could purchase without a license does not bode well for the business her website would lead you to believe.It is not bright, luxurious or spa like in any terms.When handing over unit for coloring she insisted that her sister could not get it to lift. The color is drab.My first visit was the same price as second visit without any special treatments..that is to say she only washed cut and colored… no special additional treatments.Ngozi also claimed my unit was faulty which caused me to call my supplier, resulting in $200 off my next unit. This was my second time going to this salon. The first time there was a bit of a wait but the stylist was awesome and did a great job on my hair. This time they called to push my appointment back a few hours back. When I arrived a new stylist gave me a hard time about using a groupon on a Friday. She also stated that my hair was light enough that I didn’t need highlights. The full set of highlights was a partial set a best and not even. I guess you get what you pay for. I will not be returning.

Love this Salon!! I have been going here for several years and never have been disappointed!! From wearing my hair natural , braids, coloring or weaves I always leave feeling brand new. Their first priority is making sure I maintain a healthy head of hair since I constantly change styles. Thank you Ngozi and Crystal for keeping it real

The worst salon experience we ever had! Unbelievable, waste of money, time, and energy! I have never been so disappointed with a salon experience like this one. I usually leave a salon feeling good, pampered, and so fresh; but I didn’t feel any of that after my visit to this salon. I was actually crying when I was getting my haircut. My head was sore for a whole week. The staff should work in a bootcamp rather than in a salon. The staff members should obtain an etiquette manner course before serving the public. The staff members should also understand professional ethics. Sad to say, the salon should just close until all staff members are retrained. My daughter did not have a pleasant experience either. The stylist that did her hair was rough, ignorant, and mean. The stylist that did my hair should not serve the public at all, until she gets help for her mentality. She was the worst of the staff members there; she was rough, ignorant, rude, and jealous. I can keep going on about my most horrible experience at this salon, but I have more important things to do. I really just wanted to send out this message to everyone, so they won’t have to waste their money or go through the horrible experience like I did. This is probably the first time I review a business; I just know that I would have loved to know the reality of this salon before going in there.

I started coming here in 2001. I love the fact that the salon does not have children running around and is a completely adult relaxed environment. It’s not the usual messy gossip environment that salons normally are categorized as. My stylist Ngozi never disappoints and always has a new style in mind when I arrive. I always leave with a great style and most importantly healthy hair.
