I was told what to expect to prepare myself for the process he didn’t sugarcoat anything which I appreciated… upon starting the process he maintained conversation which took my thoughts off of the situation and helped ease my mind…. the process was faster than expected and I was explained the aftercare process in depth….. the owner was very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable …. I wasn’t sure what to expect concerning my first tattoo removal, but upon arrival the owner explained the process in great detail and it was very evident that he is thoroughly educated in the process. Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismWhen I first reached out to Altoona Laser, the owner Adam Balestino told me he would do my small tattoo removal for $75/session. I wasn’t quite ready to do it yet, so when I finally reached out again a few months later and he advised me that was a promotion that had ended, I understood. I was a bit irritated the price was now doubled to $150/session, but decided it was worth it. We agreed for 4 sessions for $600, and I would start out by paying a $25 deposit via Paypal and then $275 (for a total of $300) for two sessions when I came in. I went in on July 2nd and had the small tattoo and some small blemishes removed, which he had reviewed and agreed to before the session. He pressured me into doing another tattoo I was not happy with for a little extra fee and I agreed to it. I paid him $300 via Paypal friend so he could save on taxes and fees, thinking I could trust him. Big mistake.Time went on and I was absolutely satisfied with my results from one session, and contacted him to schedule my 2nd session. At this point things got weird. Adam acted like I had agreed to pay $300 for one session, which is QUADRUPLE his initial quote and double our agreed pricing. He called me and went on tangents about how they’re the cheapest around and I got a good deal and he pays Cyanosure by the pulse and so he didn’t make any money on my removal. I was taken back and told him I’d send proof of our previous agreement, and he stated he would review it. He saw my messages and screenshots and continued to straight ignore me until I essentially got upset enough that I threatened to file a small claims case for my remaining $150. It took things getting ugly for me to receive my refund, and I don’t understand why he would have preferred to refund me than just fulfill his agreement and then have me return to pay for even more sessions. He states he pays Cyanosure by the pulse for use of their machine and that’s his reasoning for treating me like this. However I contacted Cyanosure and described the entire incident. Their reply to me has solidified the fact that Adam Balestino lied to me, has questionable and unprofessional business tactics and does not honor his agreements:”Thank you for reaching out. Cynosure has no involvement in the prices charged for treatments with our machines. Along with capital equipment purchased from Cynosure, providers may also be required to purchase disposables used in providing treatments to their patients.
