Critical: QualityI have had my hair “butchered” 2 times in my life, this being the second. I continuously search for stylists that understand the hair curl pattern of Mediterranean women. As reassured as I was that the woman cutting my hair here “knows how to cut curly hair” clearly, clearly she did not. I showed her photos of what I want, what I’ve had before that I liked, explained my curl pattern, explained how much shorter my hair becomes when it’s curly, essentially anything I could’ve brought up to help her gage what I wanted. While she was cutting I continuously articulated that I felt anxious and unnerved by how much she was cutting off. 4 chopped inches later my hair is *much* shorter than the length that I asked for/showed/explained, and it’s straight. Which means, I cannot wear my natural curls because if I do, my hair will be up to my jawbone, and I had emphasized that I wanted it shoulder length *with my curls*. Sat in the chair near tears while she explained “there’s nothing I can do”. Apologized but clearly showed no empathy for how upset I was, instead tried to persuade me that she actually had done what I asked for. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI had Orquidea today for my first cut and color in over 4 months. I can’t recommend her or the salon enough. The safety protocols were followed exactly so I felt very safe. The cut and color came out beautiful. I will definitely be a regular!
