I’m somewhat new to Akya and receiving cuts and colors from owner Kelvon. I am so happy with the results, each of the last three times! I recently went blond after a number of years of coloring my own hair various shades of brunette. Kelvon nailed the color! It’s perfectly platinum with no orange-y chicken hues. I love the process he uses which leaves some of my darker roots present, giving my hair more depth and natural looking results. I got my hair done before the weekend. All weekend long I got one compliment after another. So happy to have found someone with a intuitive understanding of what I’m going for. AND, I love the banter in the salon between the two owners and the other guests. Highly recommend.

We frequent Aveda salons all over the country in our travels, and AKYA was, by far, a standout. Neil cut my daughter’s hair, and Kelvon cut mine, and both did an excellent job. But the experience went beyond getting great haircuts. We were there with some other customers who were obviously regulars, and it was such a positive and fun atmosphere. I also very much appreciated how Neil and Kelvon required masks and displayed their covid vaccine cards. It was a pleasure to be pampered someplace that felt safe. (The Mardi Gras decorations were a bonus. 😉

Great service. Hairstylist was knowledgeable and took time to review my hair coloring options. I have gray hair and am a brunette and it is a challenge to find a product to give me natural hair color results. I also appreciated all their COVID safety measures which relieved my stress and anxiety about returning for hair styling services during the Pandemic.
